President Joe Biden displayed a card that showed step-by-step instructions for him at a White House meeting with wind industry leaders. The president was immediately mocked on social media for being ‘incompetent’ because the card appears to tell him when to sit down and who to talk to.
Biden, 79, brandished a card depicting instructions beginning with “YOU enter the Roosevelt Room and say hello to participants,” and ending with “YOU depart.”
Or others such as “YOU take YOUR seat” and “YOU thank participants.”
The card directed Biden to just keep his remarks “brief,” with notes lasting two minutes, and to ask AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler a question after reporters have left the room.
After a picture of the president’s cheat sheet went viral on social media, White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates responded to a Twitter post from the Republican National Committee Research.
“Advance & exec comms folks write event tick toks like this for leaders all the time. It’s malpractice to send your principal (esp one who is scheduled back to back) into an engagement w/o a briefing document that outlines the exact sequence of an event & their role in it,” Bates tweeted.
Next time someone tries to tell you Joe Biden isn’t a geriatric nursing home patient trapped in the White House, show them this.
He needs a notecard with step by step directions telling him what to do, including “YOU take YOUR seat”.
This is beyond embarrassing. pic.twitter.com/GRMbgpcrEq

Benny Johnson of Newsmax, host of “The Benny Show,” tweeted two pictures of Biden holding the small memo card and stated that the instructions were “beyond embarrassing.”

With the job approval at an all-time low, the age of Biden has become a concern as Democrats look ahead to the 2024 presidential race.
Party leaders are assessing the implications of the oldest sitting president seeking a second term despite 40-year inflation highs, an immigration crisis on the southern border and the prospect of Republicans regaining control of the House and Senate in the midterm elections in November.
A columnist for The Atlantic recently argued that Biden would be too old to run for re-election.
“He will be 82 if and when he begins a second term. The numbers just keep getting more ridiculous from there,” Mark Leibovich wrote an article in The Atlantic on June 16th.
