Ohio Senate Democratic nominee Rep. Tim Ryan has decided against appearing alongside President Joe Biden on Wednesday in the city of Cleveland as the commander-in-chief pays it a visit to chat about a program that would benefit union workers.
Just the News is reporting that Ryan’s campaign has said the reason behind the decision not to appear with Biden is due to an unavoidable scheduling conflict, which, funny enough, was the exact same excuse that was given by Democratic gubernatorial nominee Nan Whaley’s campaign.
That’s a bit weird don’t you think? That both of these individuals from the same state would give the exact same excuse for not appearing with the president?
Methinks there’s more to this than meets the eye, don’t you?
Like, oh, I don’t know, extremely bad approval ratings, coupled with the fact that most Americans are furious with Biden for his failure to do anything about high gas prices, inflation, and the border crisis, for example.
“In addition, Biden in 2020 lost to incumbent GOP President Trump roughly 53-to-45% in Ohio, a traditional labor union state,” Just the News reported.
The report then stated, “Biden will, however, on Wednesday be joined by Ohio lawmakers and fellow Democrats Sen. Sherrod Brown, Reps. Shantel Brown and Marcy Kaptur and Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb, as well as Labor Secretary Marty Walsh.”
Guess those folks are taking one for the team, attempting to keep up the appearances of unity within the Democratic Party.
Biden’s speech is supposed to be an appeal to blue collar voters. The president will be giving his talk at the Iron Workers Local Union No. 17 Training Center, where he is set to announce an administrative move that could potentially result in benefits being given to 2-3 million workers and retirees.
On Wednesday, J.D. Vance, the Ohio Republican Senate nominee, attempted to tie Ryan to Biden and the disastrous policies that have been destroying this country for months now.
“Ryan has worked in lockstep with Biden to destroy our economy and Ohio’s middle class is suffering today because of it,” he went on to remark. “But now, for the second time in two months, Ryan is refusing to be seen in public with his own party’s president.”
Can anyone really blame Ryan or any other Democrat for not wanting to be associated with Biden, who is currently in the running for the not-so-coveted title of worst president in American history?
Kind of feels like that might be counterproductive to winning a presidential election, don’t you think?
However, while they might not want to commit political suicide by being seen with Biden, that’s not going to be enough to win voters over. We all want to see real solutions to the current issues that are impacting our way of life. Something that doesn’t involve a loss of freedom, increase in the size of government, or printing more money.
Especially that last one, because that’s what got us into this mess in the first place. The last thing we need is more inflation.
