The father of a 17-year-old boy who was murdered during the 2018 Parkland, Florida mass shooting stood up during a speech delivered by President Joe Biden that was designed to reveal a new law that is supposedly designed to reduce gun violence in the U.S. and heckled him ferociously.
Which means the event was glorious because no one deserves to be heckled as much as Biden does.
“Sit down! You’ll hear what I have to say,” Biden went on to shout at Manuel Oliver, whose 17-year-old son Joaquin was killed during the shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School four years ago. “Let me finish my remarks.”
According to Newsmax, it wasn’t clear what Oliver said to the president, but earlier in the day, on Twitter, he made remarks criticizing the event.
“The word CELEBRATION has no space in a society that saw 19 kids massacred just a month ago. Most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten years.” Not me, not Joaquin. @ChangeTheRef,” Oliver wrote.

Oliver was then escorted off the grounds.
During the event, Biden, along with others who spoke onstage, stated that the Safer Communities Act should be the first step toward a total ban on assault weapons. Which, as usual, no one can properly define, because technically, every gun is an assault weapon.
At one time, I used to think they were simply mixing up the terms “automatic weapons,” thinking of machine guns, with this term “assault weapon,” but knowing progressives the way I do now, the vagueness of their definition of terms is done on purpose.
The plan isn’t a complete ban on assault weapons, but an eventual complete ban on all guns. This can be accomplished through baby steps concerning “assault weapons,” so long as the definition of what these kinds of weapons are remains vague and not definitive.
“Now is the time to galvanize this movement because that’s our duty to the people of this nation,” Biden said. “We’re living in a country awash in weapons of war.”
“The law, passed after recent gun rampages in Buffalo, New York, and Uvalde, Texas, incrementally toughens requirements for young people buying guns, denies firearms to more domestic abusers and helps local authorities temporarily take weapons from people judged to be dangerous,” the Newsmax report stated.
Make no mistake about it. Any time the phrase “common sense gun control” is espoused by the left, what they have in mind is stripping you of your Second Amendment rights.
Progressives are well aware that if they want to recreate this country into a Marxist nation, they will have to remove weapons from the hands of the people, otherwise, there will be folks that fight back, viciously, if necessary, in order to preserve their liberty.
Nazi Germany took guns right off the bat. As did all other Communist and socialist nations. An unarmed populace is rather easy to control. And that’s what they want you to be. Easy to control. To manipulate. To oppress.
