The White House has apologized on behalf of Jill Biden after she compared Hispanics with ‘breakfast tacos’ during a speech about diversity. She faced instant backlash on social media when she made the remarks that required a spokesman Michael LaRosa to issue the apology for her in a Twitter post. The remarks by Jill Biden were made at a conference of UnidosUS, formerly known as the National Council of La Raza.
WATCH JILL BIDEN’S TACO COMMENT:
NY Post added the following: “[Civil rights activist] Raul [Yzaguirre] helped build this organization with the understanding that the diversity of this community — as distinct as the bodegas of the Bronx, as beautiful as the blossoms of Miami, and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio — is your strength,” Jill Biden said while praising Yzaguirre, La Raza’s president and CEO for three decades.
“We are not tacos,” the National Association of Hispanic Journalists responded in a statement.
“Using breakfast tacos to try to demonstrate the uniqueness of Latinos in San Antonio demonstrates a lack of cultural knowledge and sensitivity to the diversity of Latinos in the region,” the group wrote. “NAHJ encourages Dr. Biden and her speech writing team to take the time in the future to better understand the complexities of our people and communities … Our heritage as Latinos is shaped by a variety of diasporas, cultures and food traditions, and should not be reduced to a stereotype.”
Rep. Mayra Flores (R-TX), who just won her primary and received Elon Musk’s first Republican vote also spoke out against Democrat Jill Biden. She said: “They just don’t get it. Latinos aren’t buying their liberal pandering; we care about the rising costs of housing, food, gas, issues that impact everyday Americans. No matter how loud they yell their made up words, it won’t change the reality of their failed policies.”
Elon Musk revealed his first GOP vote went to Mayra Flores.
Republican Texas Congresswoman-elect Mayra Flores declared that she was thankful to learn that billionaire Elon Musk had cast his vote for her in the special election this week, the first time the Tesla founder has ever endorsed a GOP candidate.
Musk has been vocal about his ongoing frustrations with the left on a number of political issues, including free speech.
“I voted for Mayra Flores – first time I ever voted Republican. Massive red wave in 2022,” Musk tweeted on Tuesday as the Republican Flores flipped a blue district.
Flores acknowledged Musk’s endorsement with gratitude, but also praised what the business mogul has done to support the state of Texas and local communities.
“It’s not just about me, it’s about the people here in Texas District 34 that deserve prosperity in this area,” Flores told “Fox & Friends.”
“We’ve been taken for granted for a long time. Unfortunately, the Democrat Party feels entitled to our vote. And I don’t care what side you’re on, you must earn the vote of the people that elect you to be in that position.”
Musk appears to be disappointed with how far left Democrats have gone. Many voters complained that Democrats are too ‘woke’ and their policies and values lack common sense. For example, Joe Biden picked Kamala Harris to be his running mate because she is a Black woman – not because she possessed the skills or talent needed to be a vice president. This was a diversity pick to appease voters, but now that Kamala Harris’ approval rating is so low, it’s becoming more apparent than ever that choosing someone based on ‘woke’ reasons is never a good decision.
EDITOR’S NOTE:
Jill Biden should also apologize to tacos for insulting them as well. Don’t ever ruin our taco Tuesday again.
