As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle enjoy their private life touring the Los Angeles chat show circuit and attending celebrity events, it has been revealed that Meghan now has her eyes on a new career.
In 2019, journalist Dan Wootton claimed a Palace insider had told him that royal aides suspected Meghan had used the Royal Family as a “steppingstone” to launch her own career. While you’d be forgiven for thinking the Hollywood starlet would probably want to land a big acting role, it seems Meghan has her sights set even higher than the silver screen.
The source told MailOnline that they were “now convinced there is something bigger going on here – an eventual plan that involves running for office in America”.
“She’s obsessed with US politics.,” the source added, according to Wootton.
“I think we’re (the Royal Family) now just a steppingstone to something she considers far more important and attractive.”
Throughout their marriage, the Sussexes have dabbled in politics, and have in the past been criticized for breaking the politically neutral Royal protocol.
Instead of accepting the democratic right for the US to exercise the laws of its land, the pair have acted more like a couple of woke celebrities, sticking their noses into every popular woke cause of the day. But their ties to Royal statesmanship make their actions even less savory than a moaning, left-wing movie star.
Meghan and Harry sparked outrage when the American public accused them of attempting to influence the result of the US Presidential Election in 2020 as the pair released a video statement which urged them to “reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity” as a clear stance against Donald Trump who was at the time known for his controversial Tweets.
Now, the Duchess has dabbled in US politics yet again as she hit out at the US Supreme Court’s decision to end constitutional protections for abortion rights by overturning the Roe V Wade ruling, sparking fresh concerns the woke warrior may be considering running for office.
Speaking to Gloria Steinem in an interview published in Vogue, the Duchess said:
“This is having a very real impact on women’s bodies and lives starting now. Women are already sharing stories of how their physical safety is being put in danger”.
She went on to suggest we should question the Constitution because it was “written at a time when women were second-class citizens”.
“If you’re someone who sees injustice, you have a choice: You can sit there and be complacent and watch it, or you can say, ‘What can I do to get us to the other side of this?’” said Meghan.
She also hinted she may travel to Washington to protest:
“Well, Gloria, maybe it seems as though you and I will be taking a trip to D.C. together soon.”
It comes after Joe Biden’s sister made the remark in May that Meghan would make a “good presidential candidate” and urged the woke feminist to join the Democrats.
US journalist Kinsey Schofield told GB News that Meghan was indeed “being mentored by people in the Democratic Party” and pointed out that the Duchess was “close” to former Dem presidential Hilary Clinton and vice president Kamala Harris.
