The moment many Americans have been waiting for has finally come. According to a recent report that was released on Monday, Dr. Anthony Fauci, who serves as the chief medical officer to the President of the United States, has indicated that he plans to step down from his position prior to the conclusion of President Biden’s term in office.
Politico reported on Monday, that Fauci has indicated that he intends to step down from his position within the federal government at the conclusion of Vice President Joe Biden’s term. Fauci has served in the federal government for more than half a century under seven different presidential administrations.

Fauci who is now 81 years old, has served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) since 1984. In 2020, he became the public face of the regulations that the American government after advocating for strict lockdowns which resulted in many small businesses unable to stay operating.
Over the course of his more than 50-year career in the public health sector of the United States, Dr. Fauci has advised every president since Ronald Reagan. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Fauci served as a member and leader of the coronavirus response teams for both Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
Throughout the course of the pandemic, Dr. Fauci was a frequent contributor to many media outlets, including cable news, primetime television, late-night talk shows, and podcasts. Many critics believe Fauci spent more time in the limelight then he did in actual research on Covid.
Over the course of time, he became a figure that was politically contentious on both the left and the right in reference to matters such as masks and lockdown procedures.
It is well known that he engaged in a heated debate with Senator Rand Paul, a Republican from Kentucky, during committee hearings regarding the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic and whether or not his division within the National Institute of Health funded gain-of-function research.

In a recent interview with Politico that took place at Fauci’s office on the National Institutes of Health Campus in Bethesda, Maryland, Fauci stated that the United States – and the rest of the globe – will have to coexist with coronavirus for a considerable amount of time.
He stated that with what we now have, he believes that we are practically in a stable state.
Fauci also replied to requests from Republicans in Congress to probe his leadership and COVID-19 response in the event that Republicans win the majority in one or both chambers of Congress as a result of the midterm elections this year.
According to Fox, Fauci was quoted saying “They are going to make an effort to come after me whatever. I mean, if I weren’t doing the job, it would definitely affect me less, “Fauci added. “That is not a factor that I take into account while making my decision about my career.”
Fauci singlehandedly started the “trust the science” movement which advocated for people who don’t have degrees in the sciences or medical field to be silent regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. Which is ironic because science is all about questioning!
