Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno held a news conference in the driveway of a man who had to be apprehended by SWAT after he threatened officers with a knife…while naked…after allegedly being responsible for a domestic disturbance that led to those officers being there in the first place.
So the suspect, if that is indeed what happened, isn’t exactly the most upstanding or valuable of citizens, something that most people think upon hearing story about a naked guy threatening cops with a knife after doing something egregious enough to spark a domestic disturbance call, but that few are willing to say for fear of being called something-ist by a leftie with blue hair.
Well, Sheriff Marceno was more than willing to say not just that, but much more about the suspect during the press conference in the driveway.
Speaking about the suspect, who is allegedly a longtime member of the “Pagans”, a drug-dealing biker gang known for bringing violence, mayhem, and terror to communities, Sheriff Marceno said:
“He’s an oxygen-stealer and a scumbag, and I’m glad he’s outta here. I’m proud to say that in this county, if you present deadly physical force to one of my family members, we meet you with deadly force every time, and we win. It’s pretty clean, pretty quick.”
And this isn’t the first time that Sheriff Marceno has shown himself to be very tough on criminals. Back in December of 2021, for instance, he said:
“These are the heroes that go out and dedicate their lives, put themselves in harm’s way every day to make sure our great residents are safe. We’re not going to tolerate drugs in this county. I said zero tolerance from Day One. You deal poison on the streets, it’s not if you’re going to jail, it’s when. I’m going to make certain we’re coming for you.”
He also sent a warning the way of drug dealers, saying: “We’re cleaning this place up. The great residents of this county will have law and order.”
In those comments, Sheriff Marceno joins the ranks of other unrepentantly anti-criminal Florida sheriffs that have become known for their very tough stances on criminals and outspoken comments about the benefits of using force to stop those criminals.
Sheriff Johnson of Santa Rosa County, for example, had this to say when a homeowner shot at a criminal but missed:
“We don’t know which homeowner shot at him. I guess they think that they did something wrong, which they did not. If someone is breaking into your house you’re more than welcome to shoot at them in Santa Rosa County. We’d prefer that you do actually.
“You’re not in trouble. Come see us. We have a gun safety class we put on every other Saturday. If you take that you’ll shoot a lot better and hopefully you’ll save taxpayers money.”
Law and order, particularly when dealing with a drug-dealing biker gang, requires a steel spine. Fortunately for residents of his county, it looks like Sheriff Marceno has one.
