President Joe Biden is becoming so unpopular right now due to his many policies failures, particularly when it comes to inflation and other negative economic factors, that he’s starting to catch hell from the folks within his own party.
There have been many economists who have warned that we are currently headed toward a recession due to these failed policies, but the Biden administration has been working very, very hard to paint a different picture of what is happening in our country.
Just last week, according to TheBlaze, Biden and his administration attempted to redefine the term “recession,” which is normally defined as two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth, by saying that’s not correct.
“On Monday, Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy asked President Joe Biden how worried Americans should be over the possibility of a recession. Biden’s response jettisoned objectivity altogether,” the report said.
“We’re not going to be in a recession, in my view,” Biden stated.
And this is where the story really gets interesting. On the CNN program, “The Lead,” a panel of political commentators delivered some rather harsh criticisms of the administration for attempting to do pre-emptive damage control out in front of a potentially negative economic report.
This is what we call “moving the goal posts.” It helps to avoid potentially disastrous political consequences for very bad policies and moves made by a particular party, in this case the Democratic Party. However, it’s not working. In fact, the move is so obvious and stupidly executed that people, even those on the left, have started hammering Biden and his ilk for the move.
“The Biden administration is trying to point out the definition of a recession is nuanced. But I got to tell you, I struggle with this. I get why they want to do it from a political perspective, but you can’t fake this!” host Kasie Hunt proclaimed.
Chris Cillizza, CNN’s editor at large, then ruthlessly mocked what Biden said to Doocy.
“I was laughing to myself with the ‘in my view’ thing. Like in my view, I should be drafted to the NBA,” Cillizza stated in mocking fashion.
“It doesn’t really matter what you think,” he added. “There is a technical definition, two straight quarters of negative economic growth. They clearly believe that is likely to come to pass later this week. They’re trying to prebut it.”
Cillizza then stated that everyone understands why the administration would try to change the definition of recession but hammered them for doing it.
“We have these terms for a reason. You don’t have to like it. Of course, they don’t like it because the economy — you know, Joe Biden’s handling of the economy was 25% or 30% in our most recent poll. It’s a problem for them; this adds to the problem,” Cillizza said. “But you don’t get to change the nomenclature in the middle of a campaign because it doesn’t work for you.”

“After the U.S. economy shrank 1.6% in the first quarter of 2022, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis, economists remain split over what the BEA’s first second-quarter estimate will say. The estimate will be published on Thursday,” TheBlaze reported.
The report concluded by saying, “Economists with Bloomberg and Goldman Sachs, for example, predict meager growths of under 1%, but the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s GDPNow is predicting another GDP contraction of 1.6%.”
Biden is a complete and total disaster. Everyone knows it now, including the radical left who continues to try plugging their ears and going “la, la, la” in the hopes that everything will magically change. It’s not going to, of course.
