By now we have all seen viral videos or news reports featuring pro-abortion protests, right? Some pretty ugly stuff.
Whatever your opinion on abortion or Roe V Wade, one thing is clear; nothing will be settled by yelling, screaming, cursing, and generally acting like a fool. From either side.
Of course, the majority of the people making themselves look like horses’ asses are on the left. The shrill screaming, the bullhorns, the blue hair and nose rings. Kind of makes you wonder why some of these “ladies” are so concerned about abortion rights.
I’m not being mean. Truly I believe there is someone for everyone, but when you look and act like some of these women, there may literally just be one.
While most of us THINK these thoughts, most of us don’t SAY them. Except Matt Gaetz. He’s a savage. Let’s check the Tallahassee Democrat and see what I’m referring too:
Florida congressman Matt Gaetz told a crowd of young people at a conference here Saturday that women protesting abortion access are less likely to get pregnant because they aren’t attractive.
“Why is it that the women with the least likelihood of getting pregnant are the ones most worried about having abortions?” Gaetz said. “Nobody wants to impregnate you if you look like a thumb.”
Oh SNAP! Did Gaetz really go scorched Earth? Hell yes, he did.
Look, I’m all for kindness and not body shaming people and all that. I would never look at someone and just tell them they are fat or ugly. But I’m not Matt Gaetz.
Sometimes people inject themselves into situations where the juxtaposition between what they are SAYING and what we are SEEING is just too obvious.

It’s an obvious OBSERVATION to think a 300-pound loudmouth, militant feminist doesn’t have a line of suitors dying to start a family with her.
Just maybe you shouldn’t say it out loud?
Ah screw it, Matt Gaetz gonna Matt Gaetz!
Gaetz went on to say that “these people are odious on the inside and out. They’re like 5’2, 350 pounds and they’re like ‘give me my abortions or I’ll get up and march and protest’ and I’m thinking: ‘March? You look like you got ankles weaker than the legal reasoning behind Roe vs. Wade.’ A few of them need to get up and march. They need to get up and march for like an hour a day, swing those arms, get the blood pumping, maybe mix in a salad.”
I’m not sure if Gaetz went in for the kill shot, or is rehearsing for his new Netflix comedy special, but if secretly you don’t find that at least a little funny, I can’t help you. Or you are a Democrat. Same thing.
Of course, the pearl-clutching left reacted like Gaetz ate a baby on stage. Actually, they would probably approve of that.
The blowback was typical.
The website Jezebel called Gaetz’s comments “cartoonishly misogynist” and said the “statement certainly sounds like something that would be shocking to hear directly out of the mouth a member of Congress — especially considering the overwhelming support for abortion rights in this country and the fact that a 10-year-old rape victim was recently denied a legal abortion in her own state.”
I’m proud to say I have never heard of the website “Jezebel”, but I’m sure there are some fine folks over there. Just kidding, I’m sure they are awful!
Of course it was cartoonishly misogynistic; he was making jokes! Sadly, the left has forgotten how to laugh, both in general and at themselves. That’s ok however, as we can laugh at them just the same.
Gaetz is a Niceville Republican who is running for reelection. He stood by his comments when asked about them Monday by a WEAR-TV reporter.
Asked what he would say to people who find his comments offensive, Gaetz said: “Be offended.”
Ironic that Matt is from Niceville, no? However, he is correct in one sense. Be offended! It’s ok. People have to be allowed to be offended. The world at large IS offensive.
Kudos to Gaetz for doubling down and not caving with a shallow apology. Now can we all sit down over a nice salad and have a civil conversation?
