United States ambassador to China during the Obama era, Max Baucus, gave his own analysis of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s recent visit to Taiwan and revealed that the fallout from the trip is going to be very bad news for President Joe Biden.
According to TheBlaze, Nancy Pelosi became the highest-ranking U.S. official to visit the island in a quarter of a century. However, it’s important to note that the Speaker made the decision to visit Taiwan despite the U.S. government advising her to do otherwise and in defiance of severe threats made by China.
While making an appearance on CNN, Baucus was not happy with Pelosi visiting the island of Taiwan, stating that her trip makes Biden look bad. However, something that Baucus isn’t discussing here is that Biden has become sort of legendary for making himself look bad, so any damage to his already horrifically bad reputation done by Pelosi in this incident is simply icing on the cake.
“The deeper problem here really is that the visit by the speaker is really pushing America moratorium recognizing [Taiwan] as an independent country. That’s a big problem here,” Baucus went on to say during the interview.
However, according to the former ambassador to China, Pelosi is given a “free pass” because she’s not the commander-in-chief, so she doesn’t have to “worry about conducting foreign policy worldwide.”
But Biden does not get this same courtesy extended to him, as he is given the task of carrying out U.S. foreign policy.
“Poor Joe Biden,” Baucus remarked. “He looks weak because he either told her not to go — and it looks weak in the Chinese eyes — or he’s weak because he told her not to go, and she went anyway. And that makes us look a little bit weak to the Chinese.”
Weakness like this is especially a problem due to the fact the Chinese are very, very good at recognizing and then exploiting weakness, Baucus then explained.

During the later part of the interview, Baucus predicted there would be “consequences” for Pelosi’s trip to Taiwan.
“I hope they’re not great, but I worry they might be,” he stated.
According to TheBlaze, the Chinese Foreign Ministry put out a rather long statement on Tuesday ferociously condemned Pelosi for going to Taiwan.
“The United States, for its part, has been attempting to use Taiwan to contain China. It constantly distorts, obscures and hollows out the one-China principle, steps up its official exchanges with Taiwan, and emboldens ‘Taiwan independence’ separatist activities,” the statement went on to say.
“These moves, like playing with fire, are extremely dangerous,” the statement continued. “Those who play with fire will perish by it.”
Going back to the statement about this whole thing making Biden look weak. My question for Baucus is how can the guy look any weaker than he already does?
He looks like a frail old man who can barely walk. The president needs assistance to avoid wandering off the path by the White House lawn that leads to his own front door. Has Baucus not watched any of the footage featuring the lengthy list of gaffes he’s made during public speeches?
It appears we have a leader who is suffering from some form of dementia. Trust me, he already looks weak to China and everyone else. It’s truly embarrassing.
