A furious China has announced that it will cut all communications with the US on numerous international issues including climate change, military issues and anti-drug trafficking systems as a direct consequence of Pelosi’s reckless one-day visit to Taiwan this week.
Earlier today, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman issued a statement on state news station CCTV to announce sanctions against the House Speaker and her family.
“In disregard of China’s grave concerns and firm opposition, Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi insisted on visiting China’s Taiwan region. This constitutes a gross interference in China’s internal affairs,” said the spokesman.
“It gravely undermines China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, seriously tramples on the one-China principle, and severely threatens peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.”
China had issued numerous warnings to Pelosi about visiting Taiwan in the days leading up to her arranged meeting with its president, Tsai Ing-wen including the US was “playing with fire”.
Despite the warnings, Pelosi touched down on the island in Air Force One on Tuesday.
“In response to Pelosi’s egregious provocation, China decides to adopt sanctions on Pelosi and her immediate family members in accordance with relevant laws of the People’s Republic of China,” added the spokesman.
Beijing has begun four days of military drills just off the Taiwan strait including targeted missile launches in response to the escalating tensions caused by Pelosi’s diplomatic visit to the island nation.

The White House reportedly arranged a meeting with Chinese ambassador, Qin Gang yesterday evening to condemn the military exercises and China’s aggressive response to Pelosi’s trip:
“After China’s actions overnight, we summoned Ambassador Qin Gang to the White House to démarche [a protest through diplomatic channels] him about (China’s) provocative actions,” said White House spokesman, John Kirby.
“We condemned the PRC’s military actions, which are irresponsible and at odds with our long-standing goal of maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.”
Meanwhile, clueless and reckless Pelosi landed in Tokyo on Thursday. She issued a public statement to say that her visit to Taiwan was not intended to increase tension between the country and China and disrupt the “status quo”:
“Our representation here is not about changing the status quo here in Asia, changing the status quo of Taiwan. It’s about again the Taiwan relations and the U.S.-China policy, all of the pieces of legislation and agreements that have established what our relationship is, to have peace in the Taiwan Straits and to have the status quo prevail,” she said during a news conference in Tokyo.
“They may try to keep Taiwan from visiting or participating in other places, but they will not isolate Taiwan by preventing us to travel there. We will not allow them to isolate Taiwan”.
Taiwanese officials condemned Beijing’s aggressive military drills just off its shoreline yesterday, calling China its “evil neighbor” as military warships crossed ‘median line’ which separate the Taiwan strait from the mainland.
China launched a barrage of missiles close to Taiwan during its ‘drills’ yesterday, some of which even landed in Japanese waters in what US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called a “significant escalation” while Japanese Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida condemned China’s actions as a “serious problem that impacts our national security and the safety of our citizens”.

Pelosi’s diplomatic meeting with Kashida concluded earlier today. She Tweeted:
“It was a privilege to meet with Prime Minister Kishida to discuss how we can further deepen our bonds and together confront challenges and seize opportunity”.
The House Speaker had hoped to meet with South Korea’s president, Yoon Suk-yeol, but he refused return from his time-off to engage with Pelosi.
She will now return to the US while Asia deals with the aftershock of her disruption.
