A Christian school located in Florida is going to continue receiving federal lunch funding, even though they said no to the Biden administration’s expansion of Title IX to include sexual orientation and gender identity.
You know, there’s probably a lesson to be learned here. That lesson is for schools, especially those that claim to be Christian, to stand on biblical principles and truth, developing a solid steel backbone against the radical leftists of the federal government, and you can win. These folks like to think they can intimidate us, but once a stand is made, it becomes clear pretty quick that they can’t possibly oppose us.
According to The Daily Wire, “Grant Park Christian Academy in Tampa, Florida, filed a lawsuit against the federal government and Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried over the issue. The change was announced just days before a previously scheduled hearing.”
“It shouldn’t have taken a lawsuit to get the government to respect religious freedom,” Erica Steinmiller-Perdomo, an Alliance Defending Freedom lawyer who is representing the case, went on to say in a statement she shared with the Washington Times.
“Grant Park Christian Academy treats every child with dignity and respect and never turns away a hungry child. … We will defend other public and private schools across the country who remain under the burden of this unlawful mandate that violates religious beliefs,” the statement continued.
And that’s exactly what the Bible commands. While Christians definitely disagree with homosexuality and transgenderism and believe it to be sinful, that doesn’t mean that they hate or dislike those individuals. That’s not what Jesus commanded. He commanded us to love our all people and to do good to those who persecute us. We are to treat all people with dignity, even if we call what they are doing sinful.
By the way, Christians call all people, everywhere to repentance. According to the teachings of the Bible, all of mankind is guilty of sin. None are spared of its curse. Therefore, all people, including homosexuals and transgendered individuals, are in the same boat with the rest of mankind. It’s not as if they are being singled out.
The big issue here is whether or not children at young ages should be taught about these issues in a public school setting. The answer is no because it undermines the authority of parents.
The Daily Wire also stated in its report, “According to court documents, the case threatened to end free meals for 56 low-income students attending the school. The expanded Title IX regulations sought to withhold funding from schools for failing to comply with new requirements related to the use of school restrooms, hiring, and preferred pronoun usage.”
The controversy surrounding Title IX is just one of many currently facing our country concerning this issue. In several red states, these changes have given birth to discussions about new bills, particularly as it concerns bans against biological men participating in women’s’ sports.
“In Oklahoma, Republican Governor Kevin Stitt signed the “Save Women’s Sports Act” into law last March, which designates sports teams to be based on athletes’ biological sex for kindergarten through college,” the report said.
“When it comes to sports and athletics, girls should compete against girls. Boys should compete against boys,” Stitt remarked. “And let’s be very clear — that’s all this bill says.”
One of the reasons this new law has stirred up the hornet’s nest is because parents are now required to sign a biological sex affidavit for students who are planning to participate in school sports.
This used to be common sense, but welcome to the era of confusion spurred forward by radical left-wingers who want the whole world to forsake legitimate science in exchange for absurdity.
“In another ruling related to Title IX changes last month, a federal judge temporarily blocked the Biden administration’s Title IX guidance on gender identity and sexual orientation,” the Daily Wire reported.
“As it currently stands, plaintiffs must choose between the threat of legal consequences — enforcement action, civil penalties, and the withholding of federal funding — or altering their state laws to ensure compliance with the guidance and avoid such adverse action,” U.S. District Judge Charles Atchley went on to write in his preliminary injunction.
The legal battles come after changes to Title IX were announced on the 50th anniversary of the famous civil rights law back in June, which prevents schools that are recipients of federal funding from discriminating based on a person’s sex.
“Over the last 50 years, Title IX has paved the way for millions of girls and women to access equal opportunity in our nation’s schools and has been instrumental in combating sexual assault and sexual violence in educational settings,” Education Secretary Miguel Cardona went on to remark in a statement.
“As we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of this landmark law, our proposed changes will allow us to continue that progress and ensure all our nation’s students – no matter where they live, who they are, or whom they love – can learn, grow, and thrive in school,” Cardona added.
