A brand new survey has revealed that half of the registered voters have thrown their support behind the raid of former President Donald Trump’s Florida estate, which is news that might shock a few folks.
According to The Daily Wire, a snap poll was conducted by Politico and the global market research firm Morning Consult, which captured early reactions on Wednesday from a sample size of around 2,004 registered voters, who were asked a series of questions pertaining to federal agents acting on a search warrant to allegedly retrieve documents that were related to the National Archives.
When those who participated in the survey were asked whether or not they approved of “the FBI’s decision to conduct a search warrant on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida,” a total of 49 percent strongly or somewhat said yes.
This is a bit shocking honestly. Are there really this many people out there who don’t realize that the FBI is being turned into a weapon to be used against them? What was done to Trump was just a means of sending a message to the average person. If they can do this to him, they can do this to you. It’s terrifying really.
Here’s more from the Daily Wire:
Lawyers for the Department of Justice present during the raid reportedly informed Trump’s representatives that the search warrant gave them “full access to everything” on site. However, reports have claimed authorities blocked the former president’s lawyers from observation during the raid.
Federal agents executed the search warrant because they reportedly believed that Trump held back turning over all the classified information, which included documents marked as “top secret,” that were supposed to be sent back earlier this year.
Federal agents removed more than ten boxes of material, which are being sorted at a local FBI field office, from the property during the raid.
Pollsters sampled that three in four voters had seen, read, or heard about the FBI’s unannounced visit Monday morning, with 54% of the sampled believing Trump mishandled classified information. Others assume the raid either was about January 6 or “something else.”
Almost 70 percent of the Republicans who were sampled agreed with Trump, who referred to the raid as political persecution and a “witch hunt” in a post on Truth Social.
This is not at all surprising. Most of these folks have their eyes open to what is really going on with this raid. It’s an assault not only on us, but it’s a means by which the left is attempting to dig up some kind of dirt on Trump to prevent him from running in 2024. At least that’s the theory, and it seems very plausible.
“These are dark times for our Nation, as my beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” Trump went on to say in a statement. “After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate.”
“They even broke into my safe!” Trump went on to say. “It is political targeting at the highest level!”
However, 49 percent of voters, who are being driven by Independents and Democrats, still ended up leaning more toward believing authorities were looking for evidence of a crime committed by the former President.
While 63 percent of the GOP believe said they firmly believe that the raid was an abuse of power by federal authorities, 62 percent of Democrats disagreed. These numbers are not surprising.
What’s alarming about the results is how they demonstrate that quite a few folks aren’t looking at this raid situation with their eyes open. The fact that a federal law enforcement agency has been weaponized against a former president should even scare Democrat voters.
Those in power are not simply looking to rule over conservatives, but over those individuals too. How much is it going to take before folks look beyond the division created by the so-called “elites” in the upper echelon of the progressive movement in Congress and culture and see the truth?
