Dems Tout Climate Win As Americans Struggle To Afford Necessities

Here we are folks, on the precipice of ruin, thanks largely in part to the “Inflation Reduction Act” passed last week by the democrats. Of course, I don’t know how 400 billion for green energy is going to reduce inflation, but I don’t expect anything this massive cash cow offers is going to do one thing to ease the grip inflation has on our economy.

However, that isn’t stopping Schumer, Pelosi, Biden and the rest of the “tax and spend” liberals in Washington from taking a victory lap. I generally thought victory laps should be saved for positive accomplishments, not driving our country further into a hole, but what do I know?

I’m not an economist, so I can’t pass judgement, even though most economists claim raising taxes during a recession is the absolute wrong move. What do they know? Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer are smarter than they are!

Thank goodness there is 400 billion to pump into an industry that we are decades away from seeing any benefit from, if we ever do. Green energy is in fact a windmill, and Joe Biden is Don Quixote.

Unfortunately for the dems and their future political aspirations, if they are attaching themselves to green energy Americans are losing interest, fast. Check this out from the Washington Free Beacon:

As Democrats take a victory lap after passing a bill that spends nearly $400 billion on green energy initiatives, Americans say they are less concerned about climate change than they were three years ago.

Only 35 percent of adults are “extremely or very concerned” about the effects of climate change on them personally, according to a poll from the Associated Press. In 2019, 44 percent of respondents said the same.

Fewer than half of respondents, 45 percent, said individual people have a large responsibility to fight climate change. Thirty-two percent of respondents said they were not concerned about the impact of climate change, and 33 percent said they were only “moderately concerned.”

So, what we are seeing here is an American public, struggling to make ends meet, buy gas, buy groceries and are generally concerned with the state of our economy quickly losing interest in climate change and green energy.

Perhaps what we have is a people that are finally weary of the rhetoric and gloom and doom predictions that seem to never come true. If we were to believe Al Gore over a decade ago, Florida would be partially under water. The climate science and global warming industry promises disasters that just aren’t happening, and people are taking notice.

Because reports show the bill will do little to curb inflation, media outlets have begun referring to the Inflation Reduction Act as a climate and health bill. Yet that framing may not help Democrats sell its provisions to voters. Fewer Americans believe they have a direct impact on climate change than three years ago, the AP poll found. Roughly half said their actions have an effect on climate change, compared with the two-thirds who said the same in 2019.

The democrats can spin and frame it however they want, but generally speaking the American public isn’t stupid. They see what is going on here. Eighty billion to double the size of the IRS, ostensibly to shake down taxpayers to help pay for this bloated government waste.

Despite what we thought as teenagers, money in fact DOESN’T grow on trees, and the government has to find a way to pay for all this nonsense. Guess where they will find it. Our pockets.

In total, the Inflation Reduction Act earmarks $386 billion for green energy and climate change-related initiatives. One-hundred-sixty-one billion dollars of that money goes to clean electricity tax credits, while $36 billion goes to tax credits for electric cars.

While all this sounds positive, the average cost of a new electric vehicle hovers around sixty thousand dollars. If a person is already struggling with four dollar a gallon gas, a sixty-thousand-dollar vehicle likely isn’t in the budget.

Also not mentioned is the extremely small number of tax credits that consumers will actually see. New regulations are part of the bill, requiring qualifying EV’s be built in North America using parts and supplies sourced either domestically or from “official trading partners”. What that means is you probably aren’t getting a $7500 tax credit on your new EV. Pretty shady, no? Can’t be giving money to the rubes, the government needs it!

Folks, it’s incumbent on us to get out and vote these clowns out of office in the midterms and finish the job in 2024. The future of America is at stake.
