Joe Biden told a Maryland crowd last night that he “doesn’t respect” the millions of “extreme” Americans who voted for Donald Trump before blaming Republicans for “destroying America”.
“I respect conservative Republicans, I don’t respect these MAGA Republicans,” Biden said during a speech outside the Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Washington DC.
He then accused the 74 million American citizens who support Trump (if you take their votes in 2020 as ‘support’), of being “violent” and anti-democratic:
“They refuse to accept the will of the people, they embrace political violence, they don’t believe in democracy.
“That’s why in this moment, those of you who love this country, we must be stronger, more determined and more committed to saving America than the MAGA Republicans are destroying America.”

He then hit out at Republicans who criticized his handling of inflation, which has hit numerous record-highs under his leadership, accusing the GOP of not caring about inflation levels which are having a massive impact on millions of hard-working Americans’ lives:
“You’d think if the Republicans really cared about reducing inflation they would have voted for the Inflation Reduction Act,” he said, referencing the legislation he recently signed which includes healthcare, medicinal, and climate initiatives.
“But every single Republican voted against it – even I know at least a dozen of them who thought they should vote for it, but they would be primaried for it.”
Most of the Act’s investments are to do with climate, and on Tuesday the president said that the bill “is the biggest step forward on climate ever.”
No Republican in either the House or the Senate voted for the bill which would see the government spend some $369 billion on clean energy.
“Every single American needs to return the favor when we vote,” continued Biden last night.
Quite understandably, an individual in the crowd had heard enough at this point and began to yell out: “You stole the election! You stole the election!”
Biden muttered something and began to smile as the crowd of Dems booed the heckler.
The man, who was wearing a suit, was led out of the event by security as Biden said “No, no, let him go. Let him go”.
“That’s ok. Folks! Folks! Folks! Ignorance knows no boundaries!”

Perhaps spurred on by the brief moment of excitement in what was otherwise Biden’s usual moan about the GOP, he continued his attack on literally half of the voting American public:
“In 2020, you and 81 million Americans voted to save our democracy, that’s why Donald Trump isn’t just a former president, he’s a defeated former president,” he continued.
“Will we be a country that moves forward or backward? Will we build a future or obsess over the past? Will we be a nation of unity, of hope, of optimism, not a nation of anger, violence, hatred and division?
“Trump and the extreme MAGA Republicans have made their choice. To go backwards, full of anger, violence, hate and division, but we’ve chosen a different path.”
