It was a performance worthy of an Academy Award as the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th riots kicked off on Tuesday.
An assortment of sobs, tears, and lamenting grief from both politicians and Capitol Police members carefully hand-picked as witnesses by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Never-Trumper Rep Adam Kinzinger (one of two RINO’S seated on the committee) began weeping as soon as the camera turned in his direction.
He began his opening statement saying, “Like most Americans, I am frustrated that six months after a deadly riot breached the United States Capitol for several hours on live television … we still don’t know exactly what happened.”
“Why?”

Brushing back a tear Kinzinger continued, “Because many in my party have treated this as just another partisan fight. It’s toxic, and it’s a disservice to the officers and their families, to the staff and employees on the Capitol Complex, and to the American people who deserve the truth.”
It was clear the moment the cameras began to roll that the participants were primed and ready to tearfully express their collective anxieties. First up a collective group of burly Capitol Police officers, each one delivering their own personal recollections of that day.
The first witness was Capital Police Sgt. Aquilino Gonell, who began telling the committee his experience as an Army reservist and later as a naturalized citizen before becoming a Capital Police officer.
US Capitol Sgt Aquilino Gonell: "What we were subjected to that day was like something from a medieval battle. We fought hand to hand … the rioters that attempted to reach the Capitol were shouting, 'Trump sent us' … I recall thinking to myself, 'this is how I'm gonna die'" pic.twitter.com/gcqzKjv6JX

Gonell began telling his experience that day; “What we were subjected that day [to] was like something from a medieval battle. We found hand-to-hand, inch-by-inch, to prevent an invasion of the Capitol by a violent mob intent on subverting our democratic process,” he testified. “It was a prolonged and desperate battle.”
Gonell ended his testimony tearing up once again for the camera’s stating, “I could feel myself losing oxygen and recall thinking to myself, ‘This is how I’m going to die, defending this entrance.”
In actuality, only one person died violently that day, her name will most likely never cross the lips of this made-for-TV witch hunt. Her name was Ashli Babbitt and she was allegedly gunned down in cold blood by a Capitol Police Officer, reputed to be Lt. Mike Byrd.
That blockbuster information was provided early Tuesday by the Gateway’s Pundit Jim Holt and confirmed in a brief video clip by the Capitol Hill Sergeant At Arms Timothy Blodgett, who accidentally confirmed the name of Byrd, as the police officer who fired the fatal shot.

Thus far the Democrats, along with FBI Director Chris Wray and the mainstream media are protecting Lt. Byrd. Imagine for a moment if the roles were reverse and Ashli Babbitt was a young black woman gunned down by a white Lt. Mike Byrd. What would happen then?
Newsmax host Greg Kelly on Tuesday also weighed in on the death of Babbitt, along with the circumstances surrounding her tragic death. Although he didn’t mention Byrd by name, he did offer a list of questions for her killer.
“1.) Ashli Babbitt was unarmed. Did you know that? If you didn’t know that what made you think she was armed?”
“2.) Did you verbally order her to stop? Did you use any customary words such as “Freeze”, ‘halt”, “go back”, or “stop”?
“3.) Police guidelines and law dictates that deadly force not be used unless there is an imminent risk of death to the officer or someone else. What deadly threat did you perceive? Please explain especially as she was unarmed and not within reach of a Capitol Hill police officer or a member of Congress.”
“4.) Do you have any awareness of the presence of the BLM activist John Sullivan who was recording your shooting of Ashli Babbitt?”
“5.) What were your personal political views of President Trump, Trump supporters? If negative as has been suggested could that have had any bearing on your decision to shoot?”
Rest assured none of these questions will be asked by this committee.
