Well, another company that was once considered to be a bastion of traditional, classic American values has bowed the knee to the wokeness that is infecting our society. American Girl, which has sold millions of both books and dolls to girls for almost four decades, has released a book that tells girls that they might not actually be girls at all.
Hard to believe so many companies have decided to add their voices to the chaos of gender confusion swirling among the young people of this country, especially girls who already have a hard time going through puberty and those awkward teenage years as it is. Liberals really do not seem to care about the damage they do, physically or mentally, to others, as long as their ultimate objective, the destruction of traditional values, moves forward.
According to TheBlaze, “The same company that released stories about various young heroines learning lessons, celebrating birthdays, saving the day, and then undergoing ‘changes’ has now released a new ‘guide’ to teach girls to embrace their bodies and their natural beauty — unless they occasionally feel ‘uncomfortable’ with their bodies, in which case they should consider taking ‘medicine to delay’ the natural puberty process or indulge whims ‘to change the way [they] look’ entirely.”
The company’s new book, “A Smart Girl’s Guide: Body Image,” presents a bunch of typical talking points that are offered to girls and young women in this day and age. The book promotes various kinds of exercises, talks about historical shifts in beauty standards, and makes the audacious claim that “racism” is still what determines “who appears” in various pieces of media and entertainment, and encourages individuals with disabilities not to let them keep them from participating in the kind of activities that pique their interest.
The report then explains, “However, the book also presents a section entitled ‘Gender Joy.’ In that section, the book lies to young readers and teaches that doctors ‘assign’ a baby’s gender based on ‘body parts,’ implying that the association between gender and sex organs is either slightly arbitrary or perhaps even misleading.”
“The section also takes pains to define woke terms like cisgender, transgender, and nonbinary. Though the book is pitched to young girls between the ages of 3 and 12, it claims in this section that some girls in that age range already ‘know for sure’ that they are ‘trans or nonbinary.’ The book recommends that such girls alter their clothing and adopt new pronouns to fit some internal gender hidden behind their physical femininity. The book even encourages some of these young girls to consult a ‘doctor’ who might prescribe puberty blockers — euphemistically referred to in the book as ‘medicine’ — to delay puberty so that they can continue to wrestle with their so-called ‘gender identity,'” the report added.
“Perhaps the most insidious aspect of this section, though, is the implication that young girls should distrust loving parents or grandparents who reject the concept of gender identity,” TheBlaze reported.
“If you don’t have an adult you can trust [regarding your gender identity],” the book goes on to say, “there are organizations across the country that can help you.” It then points girls to a list of preferred organizations on another page. You know, to further assist in the indoctrination on gender identity issues.
While the book doesn’t explain how these groups can provide assistance, some parents have expressed concern that they might end up undermining their authority and stripping it away from them, aiding minor girls in receiving gender medical “treatment” without their consent.
The fact this book has a left-wing slant isn’t really all that surprising. After all, Mattel, which is the company that owns American Girl, started selling, and I’m not making this up, a “transgender” Barbie doll earlier in the year. The author of the book causing all the controversy, Mel Hammond, has many of the symptoms of woke activism. If you look at her bio pic, she’s got the typical pink hair and says her mission is to improve “diversity in the children’s publishing industry,” while also stating she cohabitates with a “partner” and goes on to list her preferred pronouns in her LinkedIn profile.
“Besides books, her favorite things are trees, rainbows, and dairy-free ice cream,” Hammond’s bio reveals.
“The 2022 American Girl of the Year is Corinne Tan, the first Chinese American doll to earn the distinction. She supposedly lives with a blended family in Colorado and, as might be expected, fights against racism and xenophobia,” the report concludes.
