A soda giant has been implicated for allegedly paying the NAACP and other organizations to cry racism in order to silence critics of the sugary beverage. Coca Cola allegedly paid the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, aka the NAACP millions of dollars to cry racism if their product was excluded from food stamp funding, among other things.
It has been a common practice through the years from large corporations that produce products that everyone knows isn’t good for them, think cigarettes, to do questionable research and cut back room deals with the government and private organizations to pressure their products into being labeled safe, healthy, and good. This time someone that was in the room is stepping forward.
Calley Means, author and co-founder of True Medicine, revealed on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” and a Twitter thread that he formerly consulted for the soda giant Coca-Cola, during which time he witnessed the company “give millions to the NAACP and the Hispanic Federation — both directly and through front groups.”
“Being inside of the room there are three parts of the playbook to rig the system,” Means told Tucker Carlson.
“It’s transactional, they say the quiet part out loud; Coke will give — in this case the NAACP — millions of dollars for the NAACP to call opponents — in this case parents who are concerned about their kids ingesting 100 times more sugar than they did 100 years ago — to call them racist and shut down debate,” Means explained.
Early in my career, I consulted for Coke to ensure sugar taxes failed and soda was included in food stamp funding.
I say Coke's policies are evil because I saw inside the room.
The first step in playbook was paying the NAACP + other civil rights groups to call opponents racist

Nothing shuts down debate quite like racism, and that isn’t restricted to just black people. In 2023 America you don’t actually have to be racist to be called a racist by the far left. The notion that a major heavyweight, pun intended, like Coca Cola is greasing the palms of seedy groups like the NAACP to cry racism is disgusting and cheapens real racism. Everyone should know that Coke is poison. Just like everyone should know that prepacked food, fast food, cigarettes, alcohol, etc are all bad for you.
Calling the practice “evil,” Means said it was his job to battle sugar taxes and defend the product’s inclusion in food stamps.
“Early in my career, I consulted for Coke to ensure sugar taxes failed and soda was included in food stamp funding,” Means stated.
The food stamp program is designed to give underprivileged and impoverished families funds to purchase healthy, nutritious food. Not soda, chips, candy, booze, or smokes. While some of those products are rightfully not allowed, the fact that a beverage like Coke, which has 100 times the amount of sugar one should be ingesting, is permitted is almost clear evidence that someone is getting an under-the-table payment somewhere.

Means also supplied a screenshot from a 2013 report that alleges Coca-Cola gave millions to other companies in exchange for influence.
The report states that “the national NAACP [received] at least $2.1 million from the soda giant since 1986,” including $100,000 that same year. It also says that Coca-Cola gave the American Academy of Family Physicians a $600,000 grant in 2009 for a new website. The report claims that the AAFP uses industry-friendly language and a soft approach on discouraging sugary drinks.
In addition, the report says that the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry hedged its position on the extent to which soda causes cavities after receiving a $1 million grant from from Coca-Cola.
So, Coke allegedly has pediatric dentists, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the NAACP in its pocket. Who can you trust? Who can you believe? Here’s an idea. Common sense? Common sense should tell you that Coke is bad for kids and will cause cavities, diabetes and obesity. Unfortunately, the path of least resistance as a parent is often taken when you are parenting alone or poor. It should start with education, in schools and at home. Until then we will continue to churn out fat, unhealthy kids with bad teeth. Thanks Coke!
