The left often eats their own. It has been demonstrated time and again that if you deviate even a tic from the guidelines of the woke left, you will be punished and often forced out of the club. For a hungry leftist like Lizzo, the statements she made about cancel culture recently are shocking.
Lizzo has been an outspoken supporter of fat people and woke culture since she has “blown up” on the music scene. Her hunger for social justice and body positivity has whet the appetites of leftists across the country. However even she is fed up with what is going on. Check this out.
In an unexpected twist that makes for another example of the left “eating their own,” Grammy-winning pop star and Joe Biden-Kamala Harris surrogate Lizzo took to Twitter on Sunday to proclaim that “cancel culture is appropriation,” adding, “now it’s become trendy, misused and misdirected.”
“This may be a random time to say this but it’s on my heart.. cancel culture is appropriation,” the “Truth Hurts” singer declared.

There was real outrage from truly marginalized people and now it’s become trendy, misused and misdirected.
I hope we can phase out of this & focus our outrage on the real problems.

Lizzo should probably be happy that the only thing on her heart is her feelings about cancel culture. Arterial plaque should be a concern as well. Jokes aside, Lizzo is correct. I am shocked as well. Just like using the words “racist” and “sexist” and “literally”, cancel culture has been overused and is losing its teeth much like one does when they eat too many sweets.
“There was real outrage from truly marginalized people and now it’s become trendy, misused and misdirected,” Lizzo added. “I hope we can phase out of this & focus our outrage on the real problems.”
It’s unclear what “real problems” Lizzo is referring to, but she is correct that is has become trendy and too easy to just call someone “phobic”. You can throw almost any prefix in front of it. Homo, trans, fat, etc. Those words no longer mean anything when they are being overused and thrown around to attack people that simply don’t agree with the current leftist narrative.
Days earlier, however, the pop star posted a TikTok video complaining about the various types of criticism she has received regarding her body, while standing in a bikini.
I have seen comments go from, “Oh my gosh, I liked you when you were thick, why did you lose weight?” to, “Oh my gosh, why’d you get a BBL [Brazilian butt lift]? I liked your body before,” to, “Oh my gosh, you’re so big, you need to lose weight, but for your health,” to, “Oh my gosh, you’re so little, you need to get ass or titties or something,” to, “Oh my gosh, why did she get all that work done? It’s just too much work.” Are we okay?
“Do you see the delusion? Do you realize that artists are not here to fit into your beauty standards? Artists are here to make art. And this body is art,” Lizzo insisted.
“And I’ma do whatever I want with this body,” the singer added as she turned around, showing her thong-clad buttocks to the camera, before slapping it.
Lizzo has the right to do whatever she wants with her massive canvas, just give us a little heads up first just in case it is dinner time. She is correct in her assertions. You can’t please everyone, and you should feel comfortable in your own skin, even if you have way more of it than you should. Beauty and art are in the eye of the beholder, so not everyone has to find her “art” aesthetically pleasing, and some fans of the music may be genuinely concerned for her health. Those people shouldn’t be shouted down for stating the obvious, for art, and Lizzo’s sake.
