An attorney who represents former Vice President Mike Pence has reportedly discovered there were a dozen documents in his Indiana home that were marked as classified last week. Man, it seems like everyone who ever occupied either the Oval Office or that of the vice presidency kept documents they weren’t technically supposed to keep. Is this something that every individual who served in this capacity has done? This is just getting ridiculous now.
According to The Daily Wire, Pence has already turned over the newly discovered documents to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The find comes hot on the heels of the Justice Department appointing a pair of special counsels to investigate documents discovered at the personal residences of both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.
“Pence directed his team to search his home in Indiana and office at his political advocacy group, Advancing American Freedom (AAF), following revelations that classified documents had been discovered in Biden’s office at the Penn Biden Center, a Washington think tank affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania. No classified papers turned up in the search of Pence’s offices at AAF, according to Fox News,“ the report said.
The Daily Wire continued, “The former vice president informed the National Archives of the discovery of classified government documents at his home on January 18, Pence’s team told Fox News. The National Archives then informed the FBI about the discovery. Pence’s team found classified documents in two small boxes. Two other boxes contained copies of papers from Pence’s time as vice president. The FBI collected the documents from Pence’s home on the evening of January 19. The documents were held in a safe until the FBI’s arrival, the Pence team told Fox News.”
The legal team representing President Biden has discovered classified materials on three different occasions now. One set was discovered in a room adjacent to the president’s garage, another group of five documents in his study, and yet another document in the study found at a later time. Then, last Friday, another sweep of the home turned up yet even more classified material.
“DOJ took possession of materials it deemed within the scope of its inquiry, including six items consisting of documents with classification markings and surrounding materials, some of which were from the President’s service in the Senate and some of which were from his tenure as Vice President. DOJ also took for further review personally handwritten notes from the vice-presidential years,” Bauer went on to say in a statement.
One has to wonder why so many people are taking these kind of documents to their own personal homes. Is there a reason for it? Are these politicians attempting to hide something? Or is it simple negligence? It’s rather concerning to see so much material, especially where Biden is concerned, found in his personal home.
Especially when you consider the evidence on Hunter Biden’s laptop that seemed to suggest there was a scheme to sell political influence to his dad, who was serving as vice president at the time. Which is the same period of time the files were dated for.
