Joe Biden got the fact-check smack down once again for attempting to take a victory lap for something he didn’t really accomplish. It’s hard to blame him of course, as Biden has done so little right that he has to take a win when he gets one, even if it isn’t a win. The left isn’t shy about bending the truth and attempting to twist a narrative like a birthday party balloon animal (not Chinese) to look good, but they didn’t count on Twitter finally coming clean. Now even formerly trusted leftist outlets like CNN are calling out Joe for his half-truths. Check this out.
Twitter fact-checked a tweet from Joe Biden’s @POTUS Twitter account over the weekend. The intern who runs the account misled users with yet another overtly dishonest tweet.
“Under my predecessor, the deficit went up four years in a row,” the tweet began.
“In the last two years, my Administration cut the deficit by more than $1.7 trillion. The largest deficit reduction in American history.”
Whatever problems Twitter has I LOVE the instant fact-check on things like this.

Huh? The statement just on its face looks false. After all, Joe likes to spend money like it is going out of style, which it kind of is. So, how could he have cut the deficit despite passing bloated omnibus bills and alleged Inflation Reduction Acts? Democratic leadership isn’t exactly famous for their fiscal responsibility. Think crack mother on welfare check day. Well, all depends on whether or not you disclose the full context of the deficit and why it fell.
Twitter marked the post as “statistically accurate, yet misleading” for the following reasons:
1) COVID spending led to huge deficits in 2020 and 2021. Its end created the deficit reduction in 2022.
2) Biden’s other spending increases made the 2022 deficit 41% larger than Trump’s largest non-COVID deficit.
A separate tweet from Twitter explained the “deficit reduction Biden claims credit for is due to emergency Covid spending expiring as planned.”
Very sneaky, Joe! Taking credit for something that was going to happen anyway. Of course, Joe was also responsible for much of the free money that was thrown around, as was Trump. However, Trump spent the money during the initial shutdown. Biden was handing out checks after most people went back to work. To make things worse for Joey bag-o-donuts, CNN chimed in.
Even worse for Biden, media ally CNN provided its own rebuttal.
“Independent analysts say Biden’s own actions…have had the overall effect of adding to current and projected future deficits, not reducing those deficits,” says CNN.
Like him or hate him, Elon Musk has made this possible. Previous to him liberating Twitter, this would’ve never happened, and Biden would have gotten away with his lie about the deficit. That isn’t to say common sense Americans don’t know the truth because we do. However, there is a solid half of the country lacking the common sense or willingness to accept that maybe, just maybe Joe isn’t being completely honest. If more of these far-left strongholds like CNN would jump on-board and call Joe out on his bull and lies, maybe things could start to change. For now, it is a step in the right direction.
