The left loves nothing more than laying blame elsewhere. Whether it be failed covid policy, the economy, gas prices or whatever, liberals love to blame someone else for their failures. Since 2016 the favorite whipping boy of the lunatic left has been Donald Trump. Even now, almost three years removed from office they look to blame President Trump for anything they can. Recently, rear admiral Pete Buttigieg, the spectacularly ineffective Transportation Secretary blamed Trump once again. This time for the disastrous train derailment in Palestine, Ohio. Thankfully Pete was smacked with immediate fact checks smashing his finger pointing plan. Check this out.
U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg is blaming former President Donald Trump for the train disaster in East Palestine, Ohio, claiming, “we’re constrained by law on some areas of rail regulation,” and citing a “braking rule” that was withdrawn under the Trump administration.
In addressing the train derailment on Tuesday, Buttigieg claimed, “We’re constrained by law on some areas of rail regulation,” and cited “the braking rule withdrawn by the Trump administration in 2018 because of a law passed by Congress in 2015.”
The Ohio Governor who lit the chemical spill on fire is a Republican. The train derails because a Republican (Trump) rolled back safety regulations. Our rail system is private, not public.

So, Pete is blaming Trump for a PROPOSED rule being withdrawn in 2018. The rule was never law, and the braking system in question was never mandated on any trains, and if it had it wouldn’t have been on the train in Ohio. Seems as though Pete might have researched a little before opening his silly mouth.
While it is true that in 2018 the Department of Transportation (DOT) withdrew a proposed rule requiring trains carrying certain dangerous chemicals to use electronically controlled pneumatic (ECP) brakes, this rule would not have applied to the train that derailed in East Palestine on February 3.
National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) Chair Jennifer Homendy announced on Thursday that if this particular rule were to have gone into effect, the mandate would have applied only to trains classified as high-hazard flammable trains.
“This means even if the rule had gone into effect, this train wouldn’t have had ECP brakes,” Homendy said, and she suggested that anyone who says otherwise is “spreading misinformation.”
Hard to believe the left would be spreading misinformation to villainize a political enemy, all while continuing to deny FEMA aid to Ohio. Democrats don’t care about people; they care about narratives and power. How do you maintain power? Control the narrative! Aside from the fact that Pete has been in his current job for over two years, which seems to be an adequate amount of time to effect some change if he thought the brakes on a certain type of train were a big deal. Instead, he has spent a large portion of his time on vacation, baby bonding, and talking about things that have nothing to do with his job.
On Monday, he suggested there are too many white people working in construction and urged attendees of the National Association of Counties Conference to “really work with organized labor, to work with your contractors, to work with your community colleges on holding a workforce that reflects the community.”
How does any of this fall under Mayor Pete? No wonder our infrastructure is piss poor and the supply chains are screwed with a totally unqualified guy like Mayor Pete at the helm. JD Vance had this to say about the whole situation.
During a visit to East Palestine on Thursday, Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) told Fox News that the Biden administration should “stop blaming Donald Trump” for the train disaster in Ohio.
“I haven’t spoken to President Biden. My message to him is pretty simple. One, the Department of Transportation, your Department of Transportation, has things they can do,” Vance said. “Stop blaming Donald Trump, a guy who hasn’t been president for three years, and use the powers of the federal government to do the things necessary to help the people in this community.”
It takes a Republican like Vance to refocus the democrat government away from Trump and back to the people actually responsible and affected. Doubtful the libs will listen, but at least the fact checkers were.
