Former President Donald Trump paid a visit to East Palestine, Ohio on Wednesday, where he brought a truckload of bottled water with him following the train derailment disaster the area has been going through this month, which has left the entire community in disarray. This is what leadership looks like. It’s going in and visiting a disaster area and attempting to relieve the suffering being experienced by the people involved. Bottled water might not seem like a lot, but in an area like this where the quality and safety of the drinking water is now suspect, it’s a God-send.
“President Trump is meeting with the citizens of East Palestine, and he will never forget them and what they are going through. Contrast that with Biden and the federal government, who have failed them from the beginning,” Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung said during an interview with Breitbart News.
“John Rourke, the CEO of Blue Line Moving, which transported the pallets of water to East Palestine, told Breitbart News the company moved 13 pallets of water, which comes to over 14,000 bottles for the small town,” the report continued.
“Joe Biden/Pete Buttigieg stay away! The real President is here taking care of American Citizens. Make sure those Ukrainian pensions are take care of,” Rourke said to the folks at Breitbart News.
President Joe Biden and U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg have neither one visited the town or cite of the derailment, despite the event having taken place three weeks ago. That is truly pathetic leadership. Especially on Buttigieg’s part. This falls under his purview, yet he’s nowhere to be found. It’s gross negligence and very infuriating.
“On February 3, a train operated by Norfolk Southern was carrying chemicals — including vinyl chloride, a highly volatile colorless gas — when it derailed, spilling the chemicals, and sparking a fire, which sent thick billowing smoke into the sky,” Breitbart stated.
The report added, “Cleanup crews ended up igniting five train cars to get rid of toxic chemicals in a controlled environment, which created a menacing plume of thick smoke that resembled a mushroom cloud. Images of the controlled detonation were later circulated on social media, sparking concerns around the nation.”
When the incident occurred it resulted in almost half the town’s population receiving an order to evacuate their homes. Residents have been told they can return back home, but many of them are still very worried and want some answers about what happened and whether or not it truly is safe in East Palestine. But, once again, the powers-that-be are nowhere to be found.
Trump has demonstrated time and again that he is willing to get his hands dirty and try to help those who are victims of disasters like this. The same cannot be said for Biden, especially in this instance. It’s yet another major indictment of poor leadership on Biden’s behalf and a clear indication he should not be given another four years at the helm of this great nation.
I don’t think 2024 can get here fast enough.
