Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz absolutely annihilated Washington Post fact-checker Glenn Kessler on Sunday concerning the release of a brand new U.S. intelligence report that reveals a federal agency believes the coronavirus pandemic, that nightmare of all nightmares, was the result of a leak from a lab in China. Hey, do you guys remember when making that same claim was enough to get you canceled on social media? I do believe the left said such a notion was a tin foil hat conspiracy theory.
“The U.S. Energy Department concluded that the origin of the pandemic was likely a lab leak in Wuhan, China, The Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday. The FBI also believes that the pandemic originated from a Chinese lab leak,” the Daily Wire said.
The conclusion of the report was reached due to freshly uncovered intelligence “and is significant because the agency has considerable scientific expertise and oversees a network of U.S. national laboratories, some of which conduct advanced biological research,” the report went on to say.
Back in May of 2020, Sen. Cruz replied to a tweet that was posted by Kessler where he made the claim it was “doubtful” the coronavirus pandemic was the result of a lab leak.
“‘Amazing’ is definitely right word for this video. WaPo ‘abandoning all pretenses of journalism to produce CCP propaganda’ would be another way to put it,” Cruz said at the time. “If this reporter submitted this video in a freshman logic class, it wouldn’t receive a passing grade.”
He then went on to post a very lengthy Twitter thread where he explained everything known at that time.
“I fear @tedcruz missed the scientific animation in the video that shows how it is virtually impossible for this virus jump from the lab,” Kessler responded to Cruz. “Or the many interviews with actual scientists. We deal in facts, and viewers can judge for themselves.”
Cruz issued a response to the tweet on Sunday, along with a screenshot of a report published by the Wall Street Journal, which featured the headline, “Lab Leak Most Likely Origin of Covid-19 Pandemic, U.S. Agency Now Says.”
“4 🤡’s for Glenn,” Cruz posted.

Steve Guest, Special Advisor for Communications for Cruz, also took an opportunity to lay the smack down on Kessler, tweeting out that this was “Kessler’s BIGGEST MISS ever.”
Documenting Glenn Kessler’s BIGGEST MISS ever:
Today, the Wall Street Journal reported, “Lab Leak Most Likely Origin of Covid-19 Pandemic.”
But in 2020, Kessler tweeted: “I fear @tedcruz missed the scientific animation in the video that shows how it is virtually impossible for… pic.twitter.com/10GQYmXsex

Back when this whole mess first started, you weren’t allowed to even consider any other plausible explanations for the spread of this illness other than what was being pushed by the propaganda creators in the mainstream media. If you dared to consider anything other than the established narrative, you were labeled a conspiracy theorist and shamed until you basically either apologized or canceled yourself.
What people in our day and age do not understand is how critical it is to question everything you are being told by the powers-that-be in the media. This goes for left and right. Media is a business and there are a lot of folks in that business who stand to make a lot of money through the promotion of propaganda, fear, and lies. We must, therefore, be critical thinkers.
It’s okay to question the narrative. In fact, you should question the narrative.
