Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene recently took to Twitter where she shared that she was harassed at a restaurant she visited on Monday evening by two fellow diners who “turned into demons” in what is the latest example of conservatives being bullied in public by angry liberals who just can’t exercise even the slightest bit of basic human decency.
Greene did not go into details about what happened during the confrontation other than to say that the pair of tormentors were a woman accompanied by her grown adult son, who were not at all fans of her politics. The Georgia Republican said the two of them screamed and yelled at her inside the establishment while she was talking with members of her staff.
“They had no respect for the restaurant or the staff or the other people dining or people like me who simply have different political views,” Greene posted on Twitter, according to a report from the Daily Wire. “They are self righteous, insane, and completely out of control. I was sitting at my table, working with my staff, and never even noticed these people until they turned into demons.”
Again, this is not the first time this kind of incident involving altercations between conservative politicians and liberal activists has taken place.
Back in June of 2018, then-White House Press Secretary Sara Huckabee Sanders — currently serving as the governor of Arkansas, an office formerly held by her father, Mike Huckabee — was actually kicked out of a restaurant in Virginia due to the fact that the owner hated here politics.
“The same year, then-Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was harassed while she ate at a Washington restaurant. In July of last year, Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was harassed in a Washington steakhouse by an angry liberal mob,” the report continued.
“People used to respect others even if they had different views,” Greene said in the tweet. “But not anymore. Our country is gone.”
Just last week, Greene made the suggestion that it might be time to have a “national divorce,” due to the deep divide that currently exists between liberals and conservatives.
“We need to separate by red states and blue states and shrink the federal government. Everyone I talk to says this,” Greene said in a President’s Day tweet. “From the sick and disgusting woke culture issues shoved down our throats to the Democrat’s traitorous America Last policies, we are done.”
The 48-year-old congresswoman then made the clarification that a “national divorce” would not entail a “civil war.”
While I think it’s true that we probably do need a national divorce, such a thing will likely never happen. There are far too many liberals in positions of power within the federal government to allow that to come to fruition. It’s tragic that we have become that divided, isn’t it? All of the work that’s gone into making this country the best in the world, and our future is looking bleak because two groups of individuals disagree over fundamental principles of governance.
