On Friday morning, the House of Representatives took a vote concerning the issue of declassifying all of the Biden administration intelligence on the origins of the coronavirus. Folks, this is going to surprise the heck out of you. It was unanimous. Every single person in the House actually agreed on this topic. This is as rare as a purple polka-dotted unicorn with a unibrow.
According to a report from the Daily Wire, the House voted 419-0 in favor of a bipartisan measure. The Senate voted unanimously last week to approve a bill that was similar in nature. The new legislation will require the declassification and release of any and all intelligence that is related to the origin of COVID and the possible connection it has to the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China, within 90 days of being signed by President Joe Biden.
“The Department of Energy and FBI both delivered assessments recently that concluded that COVID most likely originated in a leak from the Wuhan lab. The theory, known as the lab leak hypothesis and pursued by Republicans, was dismissed as a conspiracy theory early on in the pandemic by top medical and science officials, including former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci,” the report said.
“Investigations into the origin of COVID have been hampered by China, which has rebuffed requests for information and access for investigators. Beijing has floated that COVID did not originate in Wuhan at all, and instead is a creation of the U.S. military,” the Daily Wire continued.
Many members of the GOP are continuing to push what has become known as the “lab leak theory” as the most likely explanation of how COVID got loosed on the world and wreaked havoc on the global population, killing millions of people.
“The American public deserves answers to every aspect of the COVID-19 pandemic, including how this virus was created and specifically, whether it was a natural occurrence of was the result of a lab-related event,” Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH), who serves as the chairman of the House Permanent Select Intelligence Committee, went on to say according to Fox News.
“The House intelligence committee, which oversees our intelligence community, is aware of classified information that could help inform the public why COVID-19 as a lab leak theory is not just a possibility, but approaches the idea that it is likely,” he added.
Back in 2021, the Federal Bureau of Investigation assessed that the lab leak theory is the most plausible explanation for the illness infecting the public, stating they had “moderate confidence” in it being true and accurate.
The National Intelligence Council, along with four other agencies, ruled against the lab leak theory, favoring instead the natural emergence hypothesis, which states the illness likely started within an animal species and then mutated in order to infect humans.
At the end of the day, this will hopefully provide the answers that we’ve all been craving to have concerning how this illness got released and what steps we can take to ensure something like this never happens again.
