President Joe Biden isn’t exactly known for having a sharp wit and intellect, but even I’m beginning to be shocked by the level of stupidity that seems to gush forth from the moldy old sponge between his ears these days. Like the claim he made on Tuesday that it’s really the GOP who wants to see police departments across the U.S. defunded, despite the fact there is almost universal Republican support for law enforcement and that slashing the funding for cops was actually part of the platform and rallying cry of his own party during the 2020 election cycle.
You know, Biden has never been the kind of man who would allow facts to get in the way of a pro-leftist narrative. Also, he’s a compulsive liar, so the temptation to tell whoppers is just too much for him to handle.
“Speaking at a recreation center in Monterey Park, California, the same community in which a gunman killed 11 and wounded nine inside a dance studio on January 21, Biden announced an executive order with new gun control measures. The order, which would increase background checks for gun purchases, promote “red flag” orders, and make public federal records on violations by firearms dealers, has been met with opposition from Republicans,” the Daily Wire reported.
“Congressional Republicans should pass my budget instead of calling for cuts to these services or defunding the police or abolishing the FBI, as we hear from our MAGA Republican friends,” the president said.
Yes, it’s true there have been some folks on the Republican side who have been calling for the FBI to be abolished. Look at how the agency has been weaponized against anyone who dares to speak out against the radical progressive agenda. Can you blame anyone for wanting to see the bureau shut down? This is federal law enforcement we’re talking about, not the local police who really do work to keep communities safe.
However, calls for defunding local law enforcement departments have exclusively belonged to the Democratic Party ever since the death of George Floyd and the subsequent riots that popped up in major cities all over America. While Biden wasn’t one of the individuals on the left demanding budgets be slashed, his vice president, Kamala Harris, was heaping praise and adoration on then-Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti for coming up with a plan to whack a staggering $150 million from the city police budget.
Just think about that for a moment. This guy wanted to reduce the police budget, which would in turn lead to less police presence on the streets, in one of the most violent and crime-ridden cities in the country? Really? And these folks don’t think that’s insane? Tell me liberalism is a mental disorder without telling me liberalism is a mental disorder.
“Right now, what we’re seeing in America is many cities spend over one-third of their entire city budget on policing but meanwhile we’ve been defunding public schools for years in America,” Harris went on to say in June of 2020.
“The funding of police departments is a local matter, but GOP governors like Florida’s Ron DeSantis or Texas’ Greg Abbott have staunchly supported the police. Meanwhile, ‘defund the police’ advocates have been visiting the White House or meeting with White House aides, which White House visitor logs revealed as reported last June,” the report continued.
“Some of those activists included Rashad Robinson, the president of Color of Change; Carmen Rojas, the president and CEO of the Marguerite Casey Foundation; Latosha Brown, the co-founder of Black Voters Matter; and Tylik McMillan, who serves as the ‘National Director of Youth [and] College’ at Al Sharpton’s National Action Network, Fox News reported,” the Daily Wire added.
“So many people are twisting themselves into word pretzels,” Rojas posted on Twitter in 2021. “They say we need justice in one breathe & not all police are bad in the next. We must be unwavering in our commitment to freedom. The best way to realize it is to defund the police and support abolition. Period.”
The bottom line here is there’s no planet or universe in existence where Republicans have ever supported the idea of slashing the budgets of law enforcement departments. This, along with policies that are soft-on-crime have led to a massive spike in criminal activity in major cities from coast-to-coast. Heck, even smaller areas are starting to feel the effects of bad criminal justice reform.
Biden, once again, needs to get his head checked.
