Tragedy has struck once again in our great nation as a shooting in a private Christian school in the city of Nashville ended in the deaths of several children and the shooter. Folks are going to rush to politicize this incident because that’s the kind of heartless modern culture the radical left has cultivated over the course of the last two decades, but we must set aside the issues of politics right now and pray for the families who just lost their loved ones.
“An active shooter event has taken place at Covenant School, Covenant Presbyterian Church, on Burton Hills Dr.,” the Nashville Metro Police Department reported in a tweet. “The shooter was engaged by MNPD and is dead.”
John Howser, a spokesperson for Vanderbilt University Medical Center, went on to reveal that three children who were wounded in the gunfire were “all pronounced dead after arrival.”

The Nashville Fire Department went on to say, according to the Daily Wire, there were “multiple patients” from the incident.
“Parents coming to the school should go to 20 Burton Hills at this time,” the department revealed. “This is an active scene.”
Just last year, the private school’s pre-kindergarten through sixth grade students ran a series of active shooter drills. Sad to see that it became necessary to use them, if they were able to. There are still a lot of facts unknown at the time of this writing. Regardless, words cannot express how evil and wicked a person has to be in order to carry out such a heinous act against young, innocent children.
Nashville Mayoral candidate Freddie O’Connell went on to say in a statement that the city “sadly, today joined the communities that have experienced a school shooting.”
“For now, my focus is turning to supporting the impacted families and revisiting our efforts to prevent these horrifying scenarios,” he continued.
Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) are on their way to the scene.
“Special Agents from the Nashville Field Office are responding to assist the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department with an active shooter incident that has occurred at the Convenant School,” the ATF posted on Twitter.
“The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation later confirmed that the crime scene was no longer active and that there was no threat to the surrounding community,” the Daily Wire reported.
“At the request of District Attorney General Glenn Funk, TBI special agents and additional personnel are responding to the scene of this morning’s school shooting in Green Hills,” TBI stated in their post. “As indicated by @MNPDNashville , there is no current threat to public safety.”

This is heartbreaking.
It will be interesting to find out more about the shooter and see what his potential motive for this incident might be and where he stands politically. At some point, that element will no doubt have to come into play. Was he or she a radical leftist with a total hatred of religion in his heart?
Or was he simply a psychopath bent on destroying innocent human life? Guess we’ll find out soon.
