Nationally syndicated radio and podcast host Dan Bongino has confirmed on Thursday that he has officially parted ways with Fox News. Bongino, who once served as a police officer in New York City and worked as a Secret Service agent, made the official announcement during his podcast Thursday, going on to explain that the network was good to him, and good for him, over the course of the last ten years, but alas, his recent contract negotiations just didn’t hit the mark.
According to the Daily Wire, just before he exited the outlet, Bongino hosted a weekly Saturday evening program called, “Unfiltered,” and his show, “Canceled in the USA” ran on the subscription based Fox Nation.

“The show ending last week was tough. It’s not some big conspiracy theory, I promise you. There’s no acrimony,” Bongino commented. “We just couldn’t come to terms on an extension. That’s really it.”
“I really enjoyed myself there. They were good for me for ten years,” he added, going on to say, “It’s a sad day. They did give me the opportunity to do one last show, I don’t want you to think they showed me the door. That’s on me, not on them, but I thought it was best to go this way for now.”
The Fox News network also put out a statement about Bongino’s departure, saying, “We thank Dan for his contributions and wish him success in his future endeavors.”
Forbes pointed out in a recent report concerning the popular host’s exit from Fox that ratings were not likely a reason for the split as his Saturday evening program was regularly at the top of the ratings, taking the number one spot during prime time for the first quarter of 2023.
“We were the number one show 90 percent of the time. We had a great team,” Bongino stated, and while he readily acknowledged that the timing for his leaving was not the best, he promised his audience that his departure was solely the result of failed contract negotiations and not due to the lawsuit that the right of center network just settled with Dominion Voting Systems.
There’s no doubt Bongino will land on his feet no matter what happens next. There are likely other networks out there that would gladly snap him up, so this is really a big loss for Fox and not so much for the conservative commentator. Who knows? Maybe he’ll just stay independent. That’s an avenue that more and more conservative voices are gravitating toward these days, and it’s a pretty good one.
What matters most is that he continues to put out good work and help engage conservatives and provide them with news and commentary they need to navigate the current cultural upheaval we’re experiencing right now. The conservative movement cannot afford to lose important voices. Our battle to preserve liberty and the principles this country was founded on is really heating up and we need all of the support we can get.
