Say what you want about Former President Donald Trump, but he knows an opportunity when he sees it.
After the Rushingbrook Children’s Choir was so shamefully shut down while singing the National Anthem in Statuary Hall at the United States Capitol last week, the story picked up steam, and eventually made national headlines.
The Capitol police stopped the children claiming the song is “considered a form of demonstration and/or might offend someone.”
Of course, no one stops anyone from singing the black national anthem or demonstrating all over the National Mall, but it isn’t popular, especially in DC, to be patriotic these days. that is just the reality when the left runs the city, as they do now.
The exact exchange between the police and the choir director went like this:
I said, what’s the problem? And she said we can’t let you continue. I said, why not? And she said, this is considered a demonstration, and we don’t allow demonstrations inside the Capitol.
I said, “This is not a demonstration. This is simply a group of children singing the National anthem.” And she said, “Well, that’s considered a demonstration. We can’t allow you to continue.” AndI said you’re telling me that a group of children can’t sing the National Anthem in their own Capitol? And she said, “That’s right.”
And then she said something, it might offend or it might be offensive to some.
It is hard to fathom how we wound up in a country where you can’t sing the National Anthem while in the actual Capitol.

President Trump, in a video message personally invited the choir to his South Carolina rally. You can see in the Tweet below, he says:“
Well, I just want to say hello and pay my respects to a very talented group of people, the Rushingbrook Children’s Choir. I heard about what happened at the Capitol, and that’s a shame, really,”
“We are going to have you in South Carolina, Line, and you’re going to sing at a rally for us in front of tens of thousands of people. And we’re all going to have a great time together.”
What was supposed to be a memorable honor for the kids, singing in the capitol, turned into yet another embarrassment for Joe Biden, and likely just created some new, future Republicans. It also helps garner public good will for Trump. Whatever his motivation, the outcome is positive, and something these children will tell their children about.
The choir director said:
Mr. Rasbach said it is “quite an honor” for the singing group to be invited by former President Trump.
“I wouldn’t even think of turning him down,” Rasbach told Post and Courier.
Another one in the win column for President Trump, and more scrambled egg on the face of Joe Biden. In the end, the kids are getting a lesson on democracy, and the chance of a lifetime to sing for President Trump. That sounds like a win.
