President Joe Biden has engaged in some verbal fisticuffs with the Chinese government after he made remarks that alluded to the country’s leader Xi Jinping being a “dictator.” I guess it takes one to know one, right? Biden can sniff out his own kind.
On Tuesday, the president was bloviating about how the military shot down the Chinese spy balloon earlier this year, which, by the way, his administration allowed to fly half way across the country collecting intelligence on our military bases and installations. According to the Daily Caller, Biden claimed that Xi was “very upset,” going on to say it was “a great embarrassment for dictators” due to the fact the Chinese president didn’t know the balloon was there.
“China is real — has real economic difficulties. And the reason why Xi Jinping got very upset in terms of when I shot that balloon down with two boxcars full of spy equipment in it is he didn’t know it was there. No, I’m serious. That’s what’s a great embarrassment for dictators, when they didn’t know what happened. That wasn’t supposed to be going where it was. It was blown off course up through Alaska and then down through the United States. And he didn’t know about it. When it got shot down, he was very embarrassed. He denied it was even there,” Biden remarked during a campaign reception held while he was in California.
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, full of wrath, referred to the president’s comments as “ridiculously absurd and irresponsible,” according to a report from CNBC.
“It is a grave disregard for basic facts, a serious breach of diplomatic protocol, a serious violation of China’s political dignity and amounted to open political provocation,” the spokesperson stated. “China expresses strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition.”
President Biden continued to flap his gums during the event, telling folks in the audience there was no need to worry “about China.” Yeah, you’ll have to forgive me if I’m not sold on that, Mr. President.
“I promise you we’re going to — don’t worry about China. I mean, worry about China, but don’t worry about China,” Biden rambled.
“Secretary of State Antony Blinken made a long-anticipated trip to China in mid-June after the trip was initially postponed after the spy balloon. Blinken met with Xi and attempted to set up a military-to-military direct hotline, but failed to get the Chinese onboard. He then said the spy balloon incident was ‘closed,'” the Daily Caller said.
President Biden then heaped praise on Blinken, stating that he did “a hell of a job” in China.
China is desperate to flex their muscles, both politically and economically on the world stage. Comments like those made by Biden are humiliating to the Chinese government, which is why it’s so surprising he said it, especially since he’s made so much money off businesses connected to the Chinese Communist Party.
Could this all be an attempt to make it seem as if the president is not a fan of the CCP in light of the investigation unfolding right now into alleged acts of corruption from Biden and his family?
