Ever since Tucker Carlson was fired from his position at Fox News in April, conservatives and liberals alike have wondered where the extremely popular pundit would land next, with many outlets putting extremely lucrative offers on the table to bring him aboard their companies. However, once you’ve been burned by the flames of censorship, it’s very difficult to ever want to subject yourself to that possibility ever again. And that definitely seems to be the case for Carlson.
Jack Davis, writer for The Western Journal, said on Friday that Carlson is looking to start a brand new media company that would build off of his current streaming broadcasts being posted on Twitter. Davis said reports on the subject are coming from “people familiar with the matter” and the rumors circling around are that the project is at the stage of development where money is being sought out to help get things off the ground.
A co-founder of The Daily Caller — alongside Tucker Carlson himself — Neil Patel, is reportedly one of the folks who is looking to partner with him in the venture.
“The report said that as the effort to find the millions of dollars needed to launch the company gets underway, financiers, lawyers and media strategists have been enlisted to join the team building the concept into a company,” Davis stated. “A team from Twitter also has been contacted in the process, the report said.”
Linda Yaccarino, Twitter’s CEO, and Justin Wells, a producer for Tucker Carlson, recently had a meeting. Representatives from the social media company have been in talks with the former Fox primetime host about different ways Twitter videos could be watched on a television set.
“It framed Carlson as looking askance at YouTube as a location for his project because of the platform’s penchant for censoring conservatives. The report suggested the company would offer a mix of free content, similar to what Carlson posts on Twitter, with longer and more in-depth content available via subscriptions,” Davis wrote.
The Journal also revealed that Carlson would be one of several hosts who would be creating content for the platform.

The report noted that another possibility being discussed is nabbing big brand sponsors for the show. It’s also being said that, from the perspective of Twitter, the deal “would expand the relationship between the platform and one of its highest-profile video creators, and serve as a test case for the social media network’s video ambitions under Elon Musk.”
Musk has made it clear that he also wants to see folks on the left-side of the political spectrum create content for his platform as well. Ladies and gentlemen, that’s what free speech is all about. Everyone on Twitter should be allowed to have a voice and express their beliefs and principles, especially as they would like to see them shape policy. That’s how real, legitimate progress is made.
The Journal also revealed that the project would span beyond Twitter, also including a website and a mobile app.
“The report noted that Patel and Carlson were college roommates at Trinity College in Connecticut before later connecting to found The Daily Caller, which Patel still runs,” The WJ piece said. “Fox News dismissed Carlson in April, although he is still technically under contract with the network, which filed cease-and-desist letters over his Twitter venture.”

According to the legal team representing Carlson, he is not planning on stopping his broadcasts anytime soon.
