A television news crew out of Chicago was robbed at gun point in the early part of Monday morning while, ironically, putting together a report on a string of robberies happening in the city. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is what you can expect from cities being run by Democrats, which has been the case for Chicago for what seems like forever. I mean, when you put policies in place that go soft on criminals carrying out violent crimes, what do you expect to happen? Crime is going to skyrocket. Especially when you defund police and paint up our officers who carry out law and order as mustache twirling racist villains.
The Daily Caller said that while a reporter for Univision Chicago, along with a photographer, were standing along the side of the road in a West Town neighborhood, just before the rooster crows and the sun comes bounding over the city skyline — that’s 5 a.m. for those who don’t know — a black SUV comes sliding up beside them fully loaded with three men in ski masks.
The robbers then did what robbers do, snatching personal property, along with a camera that contained footage from the news crew before getting back in the SUV and hauling their backsides out Dodge.

The reporter, who asked local media to keep names and identities hush-hush, told the Block Chicago Club that the whole incident was “total irony.” I would agree with that assessment.
“As a journalist, you never want to be the story, right? You’re reporting on the story but you never think that you can become the story. That’s not why we do this,” the reporter told Block Club Chicago. “So I guess it’s another reminder of how important it is to keep doing these stories and to keep pressure on our local authorities to try to prevent more events like that.”
Lillian Tweten wrote for the Daily Caller, “A string of robberies and carjackings took place in Chicago between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning, according to ABC7 Chicago. At least three victims went to the hospital after several of the robberies turned violent. Chicago robberies increased 56% during the week of Aug. 21 compared to robberies committed during the same time frame last year, according to data from the Chicago Police Department. Univision Chicago did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.”
What is also ironic is how Chicago has some of the most strict gun control laws in the country, and they still cannot prevent violent crime and shootings from taking place. It’s almost like bad guys don’t obey the law or something ludicrous like that. Listen, the only thing gun control accomplishes is punishing law-abiding citizens double. Once by making it almost impossible for them to exercise their God-given right to self-defense as protected by the Second Amendment, and then secondly, by making them easier targets for the dregs of society.
We have proven time and again gun control here does not work. It encourages violent offenders. Soft-on-crime policies are also bad news. Maybe Chicago should consider not voting for more Democrats to take up residence in city hall?
