The Texas state government is doing everything it possibly can to try and help its towns and cities deal with the absolutely insane number of illegal immigrants who have crossed the border into the United States, employing a number of different tactics to prevent them from being overwhelmed by the current invasion. One method the Lone Star State is seeing a lot of results from is the bussing of migrants to sanctuary cities across the country, forcing them to put their money where their mouths are. This is a strategy that was employed during the earlier part of 2023 and is still being used today.
“Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, via Tuesday afternoon posts on social media, listed six cities to which his state was busing a total of nearly 42,000 migrants,” Newsmax reported.
“Texas continues to bus migrants to sanctuary cities to relieve overwhelmed border towns,” Abbott wrote in a post shared on both X and Facebook.
“Over 12,000 to DC
Over 15,300 to NYC
Over 9,200 to Chicago
Over 3,000 to Philadelphia
Over 1,800 to Denver
Over 650 to LA”
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency released some new statistics this week, which revealed there was a record number of encounters with illegal migrants in August, which totaled 232,972, which is the highest number ever recorded for that month.
“The New York Post on Friday reported that Abbott chartered buses to take migrants from from Del Rio, Texas, and Eagle Pass, Texas, to New York City. Abbott on Wednesday said he was sending Texas National Guard troops to the U.S.-Mexico border to hold off what he declared in a letter to President Joe Biden to be an ‘invasion’ of illegal migrants,” the report continued.
“I officially declared an invasion at our border because of Biden’s policies,” Abbott went on to post on X. “We deployed the Texas National Guard, Department of Public Safety, and local law enforcement. We are building a border wall, razor wire, and marine barriers. We are also repelling migrants.”
Oscar Leeser, the mayor of El Paso, stated over the weekend that his city is now at its breaking point. Democrat Mayor Rolando Salinas, whose town has already declared a state of emergency because of the problem, has referred to the mess as a “crisis.” And that’s about the best terminology one can use for it too.
“I will be honest with you. I believe 100% he does bear some responsibility for this crisis,” Salinas said during an interview with CNN. “I haven’t heard from anybody in the administration. The president hasn’t put out a statement, the vice president, I haven’t heard from anybody.”
A great way to look at the issue of illegal immigration that provides a great deal of context to the matter, is through the lens of a homeowner. You would not just allow millions of random strangers to walk through your front door, help themselves to your food, trash your house, use your bathroom, and sleep in your bed. There’s no doubt quite a few of these individuals would probably take your belongings on their way passing through. You would not have enough resources to help all those individuals, nor would you have enough money to repair the damage done by those who have broken into your house and ravaged it.
So why are we doing that with our country?
