Is Fox News still smarting over the whole fiasco with former host Tucker Carlson that took place in April of this year? After what happened during a Trump rally held in Summerville, South Carolina on Tuesday, it certainly seems like it. They are no doubt feeling ticked off by the fact they were forced to let their cash cow go, only to see him being far more successful on his own without the help of another network.
According to George C. Upper of the Western Journal, former President Donald Trump was delivering an address during a rally at Summerville, which was being covered by Fox News, when he mentioned the name of Tucker Carlson. Not even a full four seconds later, the network cut away from the event. Coincidence? It’s possible. However, it definitely seems like strange timing.
I forgot to mention Trump also noted the massive drop in Fox News’ ratings after Carlson left before they cut their coverage. So, yeah, that definitely adds some credibility to that theory, doesn’t it?
“We had 271 million people listening to the Tucker Carlson interview; that’s an all-time record,” Trump stated during his speech. And that’s about the time Fox cut away.
“So here we are, back in the thick of campaign season,” Fox host Martha MacCallum went on to say as the network cut to her face — which is definitely prettier than Trump’s, no doubt about it — instead of the rest of the former president’s address. “We are now just four months away from the Iowa primaries.”

“If Fox was concerned that the former president was going to spend the next several minutes disparaging the network, its concerns were misplaced. According to the YouTube transcript of the remarks, Trump never mentioned Carlson again after that comment and never even referred to Fox by name at all,” Upper wrote concerning the incident.
While Tucker Carlson has most certainly been enjoying a whole lot of viewer audience expansion since leaving Fox, the biggest boost in his streaming numbers came on Aug. 23, when he sat down for an interview with Trump. That same night was the first Republican presidential debate, which he did not attend due to not wanting to sign the pledge to support the GOP nominee, should it be someone other than himself.
“Barely a week after that interview, Carlson had Barstool Sports founder David Portnoy on his show, and agreed with him that both Trump, 77, and current President Joe Biden, 80, are ‘too old’ to be president and that it would have been better for the country if Trump had participated in the Republican debate rather than appear on his show,” Upper’s article revealed.
“I think it was the right move not to do it, but for the betterment of the country, I think he should be on the debate,” Portnoy remarked during the interview.
“I kind of agree,” Carlson replied. “I like the debates, personally.”
The second debate will air on Wednesday evening and will take place at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute, located in Simi Valley, California.
