During an interview conducted over the weekend, Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, currently running for the 2024 Republican Party nomination, issued a warning concerning the push by Democrats to make everyone buy electric vehicles, pointing out that they present serious risks to our national security and to the economy. Glad someone is finally talking about this, as the left is continuing to try ramming this crap down the throats of the American people by unveiling a brand new policy concerning offshore oil and gas leasing that could be devastating.
The comments come during an appearance DeSantis made on Maria Bartiromo’s Fox News program, “Sunday Morning Futures” when she asked him for his thoughts about President Joe Biden hitting the picket line alongside striking auto workers.
“They are going to really hurt the whole automobile industry. It is going to hurt jobs, forcing EVs,” DeSantis stated. “A lot of people don’t want EVs, a lot of Americans can’t afford EVs. It will make our country more dependent on communist China which we definitely don’t need to be doing.”
“What they’re doing in California, Newsom and Biden have partnered up, they are requiring these big rigs to be electric,” he added during the interview. “And so, we’re at the Port of Long Beach, this is very important to be able to move product for the entire country’s economy. These big rigs, they go, like 100 miles on an electric, then they’ve got to do a charge. It is totally, totally ridiculous. So, I’m going to come in as president, we’re going to reverse all of those Biden EV mandates, we’re going to save the American automobile.”
The Florida Republican presidential candidate also said that forcing big rigs to become electric will “impact our supply chain” due to the fact they will have to be recharged frequently, which will then “hurt inflation, hurt our economy.”
“It’s putting ideology ahead of anything that’s practical, and I think the truckers were really excited we were there to shine a light on some of the insanity that’s going on out California,” The governor added.
The ultimate goal of all this green agenda junk is not to save the environment or stop global warming or climate change. It’s wealth redistribution. The left wants to create a means of justifying wealth redistribution and taking over larger chunks of the means of production via regulations and “penalties” that are basically taxes meant to suck up profits and fill the government’s pockets.
However, if progressives just come out and honestly state their intentions, the vast majority of Americans will protest and vote anyone who supports such a policy out of office. Rightly so. In order to sneak it past those who aren’t really paying too close attention to what’s happening, they shroud their actual plans in good intentions, making it seem as if they are crusading for a worthy cause. It’s much easier to get people to support your agenda if they think that by doing so they are fulfilling their hero complex and saving the planet.
