Antisemitism is alive and well, ladies and gentlemen, and unlike racism, is legitimately institutionalized in many subsets of our modern-day culture. This form of hatred has reared its ugly head after radical terrorist group Hamas launched a number of terrorist attacks on Israel last weekend that left over 1,000 Israelis dead and many others injured, kidnapped, or worse. As a result, liberals have come out of the woodwork to express their support for Hamas, referring to Israel as colonialists and working their propaganda campaigns as hard as possible to paint them up as the villains of the story.
One example of many comes from a teacher with Stanford University who has now been slapped with a suspension after he separated Jewish students away from the rest of his class, referring to them as colonizers, and then proceeding to downplay the horrific tragedy that happened during the Holocaust. This is absolutely sickening. A teacher who says and does something like this does not deserve a suspension. They should be fired.
According to TheBlaze, “Just days after the Hamas invasion that killed more than 1,300 Israelis, a Stanford University lecturer is accused of ‘identity-based targeting’ of Jewish students. The disturbing alleged actions took place on Tuesday during two ‘Civil, Liberal and Global Education’ classes – a course for undergraduate students on campus.”
“Senior Nourya Cohen and junior Andrei Mandelshtam – co-presidents of Stanford’s Israeli Student Association – caught wind of the troubling accusations and interviewed several students who were in the classroom. The lecturer allegedly began one of the classes by announcing that the lesson would be about colonialism. The teacher blamed the war on Zionists and excused the barbaric atrocities committed by Hamas terrorists because their actions were part of a ‘resistance”” the report continued.
The teacher delivering the lecture, whose identity has been kept private, asked Jewish students attending the class to raise their hands. He then told those who complied to leave their belongings at their current desks and stand in a corner of the classroom. Three students who were in attendance when the incident happened later spoke with Rabbi Dov Greenberg, the director of the Chabad Stanford Jewish Center, stating the teacher explained the action by saying, “This is what Israel does to Palestinians.”
And that’s when things took a turn from bad to worse. The lecturer proceeded to ask, “How man people died in the Holocaust?” You know at this point whatever is going to come out of the teacher’s mouth is not going to be anything good, but likely saturated in malice, deception, and hatred.
One student replied, “Six million.” The teacher then downplayed the horrors of the Holocaust by remarking, “Colonizers killed more than six million. Israel is a colonizer.”
“Cohen and Mandelshtam said students told them that the lecturer asked if anyone knew who 19th-century Belgian King Leopold was. When no one responded, he said the king, who colonized Congo, had killed some 12 million Africans. Students reported that the lecturer told them that more people died from colonization than from the Holocaust and that colonization was what happened to the Palestinians, Cohen and Mandelshtam said,” TheBlaze reported.
You know, the more things get revealed about what happened at Stanford, the more it seems this person was sick in the head.
And yet, things kept going south from there. The lecturer then asked every student where their ancestors were from, which gave him an excuse to call each and every one of them a “colonizer” or someone who was “colonized.” Talk about sowing seeds of discord and division. Geesh.
When one student revealed his ancestors hailed from Israel the teacher responded, “Oh, definitely a colonizer.”
Cohen went on to reveal, “I feel absolutely dehumanized that someone in charge of students and developing minds could possibly try and justify the massacre of my people. It’s like I’m reliving the justification of Nazis 80 years ago on today’s college campus.”
After suspending the teacher and starting an investigation into the situation, the university put out a statement that said:
We have received a report of a class in which a non-faculty instructor is reported to have addressed the Middle East conflict in a manner that called out individual students in class based on their backgrounds and identities. Without prejudging the matter, this report is a cause for serious concern. Academic freedom does not permit the identity-based targeting of students. The instructor in this course is not currently teaching while the university works to ascertain the facts of the situation.
Weak sauce reply, wouldn’t you say?
Apparently, after getting dragged for this pathetic response, the president and provost of the school put out a much stronger one that shared more sympathy for the Israelis who were murdered and kidnapped during the attacks.
