According to a report published by Ben Whedon over at Just the News, the Pentagon has carefully chosen a group of close to 2,000 American soldiers to potentially be deployed to Israel to support the country in the wake of horrific terrorist attacks that killed over a thousand people just a little over a week ago. Israel could possibly be putting together land operations to invade the Gaza Strip which is currently under the control of the Hamas terrorist organization, which is the group responsible for the attacks on the Jewish nation.
Fighting has been constant back-and-forth ever since Hamas raided Israel on October 7. The operation saw the terrorist fighters take over coastal territory, seize towns located along the border, kidnap people as hostages, and indiscriminately murder people in cold-blood.
“American troops are not expected to take part in combat and will likely serve in support, advisory, and medical capacities, according to the Wall Street Journal. The contingent of 2,000 will come from troops stationed largely in the Middle East and Europe,” Whedon wrote. “Details of any such deployment, such as potential locations and exact mission parameters, remain unclear and any such operations would likely serve to bolster an Israeli ground effort.”
Nasser Kanaani, foreign minister for Iran, stated on Monday that Hamas is set to release the 199 individuals they have taken hostage if Israel would stop its bombardment of Gaza, however the organization itself has not said a word. Isn’t that lovely of them? I mean, the whole reason for the bombing is the murder of their citizens at the hands of Hamas “troops.” If they hadn’t marched in and shed blood, there would be no bombings.
What they are essentially asking Israel to do is to take no retaliatory action for Hamas murdering its people. They want to terrorize them without fear of any sort of counterattacks. In other words, surrender and allow them to do whatever they want. If you read the Bible, the enemies of Israel throughout ancient history always made requests like this of the Jewish nation. It’s pretty par for the course when it comes to Middle Eastern countries, showcasing that wherever radical forms of a certain “religion of peace” is allowed to grow unchecked, society gets sent back centuries.
Iran has been a supporter of Hamas for quite some time now, which is something that has caused the majority-Muslim country to come under heavy scrutiny by the rest of the world. Many folks believe that Iran, backed by currency paid to them last month by President Joe Biden as part of a prisoner exchange that took place on Sept. 11, funded the assault Hamas carried out on Israel, though Hamas has denied this.
Let’s hope that our sending troops, even in a consulting capacity does not cause the already extremely volatile situation in Israel to get worse and bring other countries into the conflict. The last thing our world needs right now is a third global “war to end all wars.” I think the pandemic we just got through is more than enough for a bit.
