Former President Donald Trump totally went bananas on Minnesota Republican Congressman Tom Emmer, who is currently the House Majority Whip who is now vying for Speaker of the House in an extremely brutal post published on Truth Social Tuesday afternoon. It’s important to note that Trump chose to back Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan for Speaker, but alas, he is no longer the nominee for the position. Emmer is. That might be one of the reasons the former president opened a can of whop a** on the Minnesota Republican earlier today.
“I have many wonderful friends wanting to be Speaker of the House, and some are truly great Warriors,” Trump said in the post. “RINO Tom Emmer, who I do not know well, is not one of them. He never respected the Power of a Trump Endorsement, or the breadth and scope of MAGA — MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! He fought me all the way, and actually spent more time defending Ilhan Omar, than he did me — He is totally out-of-touch with Republican Voters.”
“I believe he has now learned his lesson because he is saying that he is Pro-Trump all the way, but who can ever be sure? Has he only changed because that’s what it takes to win? The Republican Party cannot take that chance, because that’s not where the America First Voters are. Voting for a Globalist RINO like Tom Emmer would be a tragic mistake!” Newsmax said.

Trump’s post came shortly after House Republicans picked Emmer as their nominee for speaker, as they again attempt to fill the chamber’s top leadership position and get back to the business of governing. The House has been paralyzed for three weeks since Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., was ousted from the speakership in a historic motion to vacate vote sparked by eight conservative Republicans, with help from Democrats.
Bids by Reps. Steve Scalise, R-La., and Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, were unsuccessful in garnering the necessary Republican support to gain the gavel. Emmer emerged as the top vote-getter in private balloting Tuesday from a list of less well-known congressmen all vying for the speaker’s chair.
Although he won a simple majority of his colleagues in the closed-door vote, Emmer will need to marshal the support of nearly all 222 Republicans to clear when a vote on the House floor commences.
What really makes the battle for Speaker so important is that we are currently in a battle for the heart and soul of the nation. I know, I know. Plenty of people have said this in the past, and honestly, a lot of that was melodrama. However, if you look at how quickly our liberties are eroding in this era, the battle is for real. And that’s why there is so much in-fighting among Republicans. Values and principles matter because they are the foundation upon which the government and the country as a whole are built upon.
If the foundation becomes damaged, the house collapses. Same with the United States. We are not guaranteed to be around in a century or even 50 years. This nation, as a beacon of liberty, only exists so long as we keep it. Keeping it means preserving the foundation. Which means choosing leaders that embody and treasure those principles and apply them to their policies.
Let’s hope the House chooses its leadership wisely.
