Republicans in the House of Representatives slapped the Justice Department with a subpoena on Tuesday in order to gain access to the transcript of the interview President Joe Biden did with special counsel Robert Hur. We the people deserve to know the extent of Biden’s “memory problems” and whether or not they make him unfit for the presidency. I mean, if he can’t stand trial for mishandling classified documents, I don’t see how he’s fit to remain behind the desk in the Oval Office.
According to the Daily Caller:
Hur released his report on Biden’s handling of classified documents earlier in February, in which he detailed a five-hour interview with the president over the course of Oct. 8-9. In his report, the special counsel made comments about Biden’s declining mental state, noting that he appeared to forget when his vice presidency began and ended as well as the date of his late son’s death.
The House Judiciary and Oversight Committees notified Attorney General Merrick Garland of the subpoena on Tuesday in a letter obtained by the Daily Caller. The committees previously requested that the DOJ provide the transcript by Feb. 19 at 5 p.m., but the department did not do so.
Whether or not to release the transcript of the Hur interview has been the topic of much debate amongst Biden allies and opponents alike.
As you might imagine, the White House was not pleased with the way Hur’s report characterized Biden, referring to it as “gratuitous” and stated that it was unnecessary, going one step further and disputing its accuracy. The president has proven on numerous occasions that he has some pretty severe cognitive decline. Numerous tumbles down stairs, off a bike, stages, you name it. Add to that how much he forgets important dates and facts, even twisting up memories in his mind. We’re really supposed to believe he’s just peachy keen? I don’t think so.
The classified documents that were found in Biden’s home were related to U.S. foreign policy in Afghanistan, along with a notebook filled with handwritten entries that concerned sensitive matters of national security. Hur decided not to press charges though because Biden would be seen as a sympathetic figure, an old grandpa with memory problems, and thus the jury wouldn’t likely convict him.
Biden gave a rare press conference following the release of the special counsel report to dispel concerns about his age, but in doing so deflected blame to his staff for the classified documents scandal. He also mixed up the presidents of Egypt and Mexico.
“I take responsibility for not having seen exactly what my staff was doing,” Biden stated during the press conference. “Things that appeared in my garage, things that came out of my home, things that were moved, were moved not by me, but my staff, but my staff.”

The president also flashed proverbial fangs at members of the press who asked him about his age and of course whether or not he was actually mentally fit to discharge the duties of the office. He shouted that the American people didn’t believe he was too old, it’s only the press. That, of course, is not true. Not at all.
The whole presser was a total disaster and his handlers probably should not have allowed him to address the report. He actually confirmed a lot of the conclusions drawn in Hur’s report. Some believe that might have been the nail in the coffin for his re-election campaign.
A lot of Biden’s buddies tried to write off Hur as an operative working for the GOP, but he was hired for the job by Attorney General Merrick Garland, who was appointed to his post by Biden himself. Garland stated he had full confidence that Hur would do a stellar job with the investigation. However, there are some who say that the White House is not happy with Garland over investigation’s results.
