Former Fox News anchor and current podcast host, Megyn Kelly, delivered a brutal monologue on her program, tearing into ABC News for how it handled the first presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. The fiasco began when the two nominees got into a tense exchange concerning the issue of foreign policy, but quickly shifted into what Kelly called a “rigged” event by ABC News that was clearly created to favor Harris.
During her show, Kelly set her sights on the two moderators for the event, David Muir and Linsey Davis, leveling accusations at them of extreme bias in favor of the vice president. However, the big mic drop moment for Kelly came when she revealed who she believes was behind the set-up: Disney executive Dana Walden, who is in charge of ABC News.
Kelly stated Walden is no ordinary network big shot. In fact, she’s a very close, personal friend of Kamala Harris. Walden is responsible for introducing Harris to her current husband, Doug Emhoff. That would explain why the network’s moderators were all too eager to fact check Trump — on the spot — while completely failing to do to the same to his opponent on the debate stage. Oftentimes it felt as though Trump were in a battle with Muir rather than Harris.
“I’m disgusted. I’m ashamed of those moderators at ABC News,” Kelly went on to say during her broadcast. “They did exactly what their bosses wanted them to do. The person who runs ABC News is a close personal friend of Kamala Harris, and they did Dana Walden’s bidding tonight. It was three against one on that debate stage.”
“It’s very easy to look like you know what you’re doing when both moderators are entirely on your side,” Kelly explained, ranting further. “Trump did the best he could under the circumstances, but it really was like three fighters in the ring pummeling one opponent. And Trump tried to take them all on.”
Here’s more from the folks at Trending Politics News:
The debate format, Kelly argued, was designed to corner Trump while giving Harris a free pass on critical issues. “The numerous fact checks on what he said and none on what she said—none,” Kelly explained. “I don’t remember a single fact check of anything she said, and she lied repeatedly. She just got away with it.” Kelly also pointed out a particularly egregious moment during the debate when David Muir interrupted Trump as he tried to explain his comments about the 2020 election. “When Trump tried to say his comment that he lost 2020 by a whisker was him being sarcastic, David Muir actually interjected saying, ‘I didn’t hear sarcasm,’” Kelly recalled. “Who gives a [expletive] what you heard? You’re supposed to be the objective news anchor of World News Tonight.”
“The worst piece of all of this is the obvious tactic by ABC News, which was as follows: ‘Mr. Trump, you said something incredibly controversial and terrible. Do you have any regrets or thoughts on how terrible you were?’ And then they’d turn to Harris and ask, ‘How bad is Trump?’ It happened over and over again.” According to Kelly, this bias was not just accidental but intentional, with the aim of helping Harris and hurting Trump’s chances in the election. “They’re trying to steal this election. They’re openly working to sink him. I think it was so bad, their bias against him and toward her, that it’s going to backfire,” she said.
“I actually think the American public is gonna see through this, and there’s probably going to be some empathy for Trump,” Kelly said at the conclusion of the monologue. “No fair-minded person could think anything other than that they were in the tank for her, and it was three against one on that stage tonight.”
Is it any wonder that Harris doesn’t want to do a debate on Fox News? She knows good and well if she sets foot on stage for a debate against Trump on Fox, the moderators there will hold her backside to the fire just as much as the former president’s. She won’t have answers and her nervousness and anxiety will make her crack and she’ll cackle like a mad witch on live television. Every answer after that will be nothing more than a word salad.
That happens and her incompetence is on full display for all to see. Game over. Trump wins.
