The drama being played out in New York finally came to an end on late Tuesday morning as an emotional Andrew Cuomo realized that he could no longer withstand the relentless call for him to resign. It was either that or he would face impeachment, so he resigned.
The solemn, haggard looking governor finally accepted his fate stating, “Wasting energy on distractions is the last thing that state government should be doing. And I cannot be the cause of that.”
“Given the circumstances, the best way I can help now is to step aside and let government get back to governing,” he added. With those few words it was suddenly all over. Cuomo will officially leave office in two weeks.

However, before Cuomo’s surprise resignation his attorney Rita Galvin held court, going through Attorney General Letitia James report. The 41 minute video details the accusations against the governor and Galvin’s effective rebuttals. In one segment of Galvin’s presentation she shows a photo of a female doctor wearing a hospital gown administering a COVID-19 test to Cuomo who playfully tells the doctor “you make that gown look good.”
In another photo presented as evidence by the AG Cuomo appears with two women in what seems to be a holiday event. The governor is in the center with his hands around the waste of the two smiling females, one of whom is Alyssa McGrath who later filed a sexual harassment complaint because of the photo
In the report this encounter is described by James, “The governor puts his hand around the rib-cage, just below her breasts.”
Needless to say, most of these allegations appear flimsy at best. That opinion was also shared by an odd mix of both principled conservatives and far left progressives coming together to voice their concerns.
Conservative Newsmax host Greg Kelly who is no fan of Cuomo was the first to voice his concern stating; “the bar has been so lowered who knows who’s behind this thing.”

Kelly continued, “There are a lot of reasons not to like Cuomo, the COVID management, making 5-million dollars in the middle of a pandemic, but this sexual harassment thing, there’s something very odd. Some of us believe that the bar has been so lowered. There’s something wrong about this case”
Adding; “Look I have no use for the guy, but this culture we’re in right now, anyone can go down within this kind of climate.”
Kelly wasn’t alone. Nutty progressive actor Alec Baldwin also chimed in. The far left New Yorker called Cuomo’s resignation “tragic.”
Adding, “Regardless of what you think of Cuomo, this is a tragic day.”
The 63 year old “Saturday Night” actor, known for his sudden outbursts towards photographers continued, “Party politics in this country draw ambitious but ultimately isolated, even socially maladjusted men and women who, given the current cancel culture, will likely have their shortcomings exposed and magnified.”

Fox News meteorologist Janice Dean appearing on the daytime news show “Outnumbered” with host Harris Faulkner, also commented on Cuomo’s sudden departure saying, “I didn’t think he was going to do it, Harris. I thought he was going to blame everybody else. Blame her; blame them, God, mother, nature, The New York Post, all the things he blames for his nursing home decision.”
Dean you may recall lost both her elderly in-laws thanks to Cuomo’s egregious nursing home decree, placing elderly infected patents back into nursing homes, resulting in the deaths of nearly 15,000 people.
Fox News honcho, Tucker Carlson also spoke up, in support of CNN’s Chris Cuomo.
Carlson usually critical of CNN’s biased reporting nevertheless defended the younger Cuomo for coming to the aid of his older bother.
“Chris Cuomo is coming under a lot of fire for helping his brother in the middle of this crisis,” Carlson said. “We can’t evaluate how true that is. But if it is true, let’s be real for a second. It’s understandable. It’s his brother. Your loyalty should be to your family above all else. Maybe even above your job. Maybe even above Jeff Zucker.”
It’s also worth noting that Attorney General Letitia James may be running for governor in the near future.
