Democratic Sen. Adam “Shifty” Schiff, hailing from the Golden State, was about to go full Looney Tunes on Thursday during the Senate confirmation hearing for President Donald Trump’s pick for FBI Director, Kash Patel, refused to play along with his ploys. Schiff attempted to use a song that Patel helped to promote called “Justice for All,” that featured the J6 Prison Choir, which was comprised of individuals who were being accused of participating in crimes related to the riot at the Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021.
“You certainly promoted the hell out of it, though, didn’t you?” Schiff went on to say in Patel’s confirmation hearing, which took place before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
“I don’t know what that means, but I promoted the heck out of raising money for families in need,” Patel replied to Schiff’s stunt.

Schiff noted the song went to the top of the charts following its release in March 2023. “Isn’t that great? People [who] violently attack police have a No. 1 song, thanks to you, Mr. Patel. That’s something to be really proud of,” the senator sarcastically said. Schiff argued Patel should have done some due diligence to ensure none of those who participated in the choir had engaged in violence on Jan. 6.
“I didn’t record it myself,” Patel told the senator.
“I want you to turn around. There are Capitol Police officers behind you. They’re guarding us. Take a look at them right now. Turn around,” Schiff told Patel, who did not do as he was told. In fact, he made it clear he wasn’t going to fall for the trap Schiff was laying for him. This dude is sharp, ladies and gentlemen. The FBI is an infected wound and Patel, along with his policies and principles, are the antibiotics.
“I’m looking at you. You’re talking to me,” Patel said to Schiff.
The nominee’s non-compliance probably caught Schiff off guard. In his mind’s eye, the senator likely foresaw Patel doing as he asked.
“Look at them. I want you to look at them, if you can,” the senator remarked, clearly getting a little hot under the collar.
“If you have the courage to look them in the eye, Mr. Patel, and tell them you’re proud of what you did. Tell them you’re proud that you raised money off of people that assaulted their colleagues. That pepper-sprayed them. That beat them with poles,” Schiff continued to push.
Patel responded by saying, “And I did not make a single dime out of this,” referring to the song. He then said, “How about you ask them if I have their backs, and let’s see about that answer?”
Patel’s resume includes stints as a federal prosecutor in the National Security Division of the Justice Department. He later was senior counsel to the House Intelligence Committee then-chairman GOP Rep. Devin Nunes. Patel’s posts during the first Trump administration included chief of staff to Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller, senior director for counterterrorism at the National Security Council, and principal deputy to the acting director of national intelligence.
Nothing is more satisfying than seeing Schiff squirm in his seat and get upset that he cannot control someone like Patel. And that’s the very reason they are afraid of him getting confirmed. He’s a man who will follow and implement the agenda of the president, cleaning out the corruption from the bureau and restoring it to its original place of glory. It will no more be a political weapon in the hands of radical leftists. And they are scared that weapon they once wielded will be turned on them.
