Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, just several months out from having embarrassingly lost the 2024 presidential election alongside YUGE loser, former Vice President Kamala Harris, the Republican Party continues to hand the guy losses. The state GOP announced they will now be taking over control of the lower chamber for the next two years. I wonder how many antacids Walz is snacking on daily at this point in his career?
The GOP take over is part of a State House power sharing agreement between both major parties, which then led to the election of GOP Minnesota State Rep. Lisa Demuth as speaker and ultimately to the establishment of a new oversight committee dedicated to going over Walz’s administration with a fine tooth comb.
So what’s the deal with the power sharing agreement? State House Democrats attempted to deny their colleagues in the GOP a quorum to take over the legislature by putting together a three-week-long boycott. As of this writing, the Republicans in Minnesota have a one seat majority, 67-66, as one seat, formerly occupied by a Democrat, to be filled following a special election in March.
With Republicans in control of the lower chamber, there will now be a significant check on Walz’s power to pass left-wing policies in the legislature.
“During the time that we have the one-seat majority, there will be Republican chairs in every committee with a one-vote advantage,” Demuth told members of the press.
“Should Democrats win the special election to fill the empty seat, Demuth will still remain the speaker. Another win, according to Republicans in the State House, is that due to having the speakership, the party has leverage when it comes to budget negotiations with the Walz administration,” Trending Politics News said.
“If the House margins become a 67-67 tie, both parties will share power on committees while the GOP will retain control over the new Fraud and Agency Oversight Committee,” it continued.
“There is record fraud in the state of Minnesota proven with three new cases even just last week,” Demuth added.
A nonprofit organization located in Walz’ state was discovered to have been very naughty, stealing a whopping $250 million from a COVID-19 federal food aid program in 2022 while he was governor. An audit found him at fault for not doing something to prevent the hundreds of millions of dollars from being taken. May I remind you this was taxpayer money.
“Voters have made it clear they want Minnesota House Republicans to be a strong check on Tim Walz and his extreme liberal agenda,” Republican State Leadership Committee President Edith Jorge-Tuñón went on to say following the power-sharing agreement announcement. “They are tired of the high taxes and rising violent crime they’ve experienced under Democrat control. Today’s agreement is a decisive victory for Minnesotans, ensuring they get the representation they deserve.”
