It’s happening, ladies and gentlemen. President Donald Trump is destroying wokeness in America, and it’s absolutely beautiful. Wonderful. Glorious. Any other word that means awesome. Including awesome.
The Public Broadcasting Service announced on Monday they would be shutting down their diversity, equity, and inclusion office in order to be in full compliance with President Donald Trump’s executive order. Read that again. Savor it this time. Delicious, isn’t it?
PBS also stated that staffers who worked in that office have left the company, but they recommitted to serving Americans who hail from all kinds of different backgrounds. A spokesperson who represents the company, which receives quite a bit of funding from the government, spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and confirmed the office had been shutdown.
“In order to best ensure we are in compliance with the President’s executive order around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion we have closed our DEI office,” the person remarked. “The staff members who served in that office are leaving PBS. We will continue to adhere to our mission and values. PBS will continue to reflect all of America and remain a welcoming place for everyone.”
Don’t think for a second that PBS followed the executive order all submissive like. No, they ended up complying with it because Trump issued a threat and they are facing an investigation by the FCC.
The head of the FCC, Brendan Carr, who was handpicked by the president for the role, was also an author of the leftist boogeyman known as “Project 2025.”
Carr started a probe into PBS and NPR in January, stating that he was worried “taxpayer dollars are being used to support a for profit endeavor or an entity that is airing commercial advertisements, then that would further undermine any case for continuing to fund NPR and PBS with taxpayer dollars.”
Trump has not at all been shy about his opposition to DEI initiatives and has spoken out against them at length for a long, long time. In fact, in the executive order mentioned above, it’s written:
Today, President Donald J. Trump signed an historic Executive Order that protects the civil rights of all Americans and expands individual opportunity by terminating radical DEI preferencing in federal contracting and directing federal agencies to relentlessly combat private sector discrimination. It enforces long-standing federal statutes and faithfully advances the Constitution’s promise of colorblind equality before the law. This comprehensive order is the most important federal civil rights measure in decades.
At the end of the day, these initiatives are not effective means of bridging the gap, well, maybe it’s more like a chasm, that exists between people in America today. Over the decades since the Civil Rights movement, our nation made significant, mind-blowing progress toward a truly color blind society.
Only to have it all blown to pieces by progressives who claimed they were fighting against inequality, when in reality they were creating it. It’s a tragedy. Now we are essentially starting over again. Pray for healing.
