Before Pope Leo XIV had a chance to utter a Hail Mary, folks discovered that the first American pontiff of the Catholic Church was a registered Republican. While that certainly signals where he likely falls on many political and cultural issues, he may not be as hardcore as his brother, who had some pretty heavy digs for former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, among many other Democrats.
After the media found these posts on social media, he quickly deleted them, likely not wanting to cause a kerfluffle for his brother, the pope. What a cool thing to be able to say. I bet he gave him wedgies and noogies all the time when they were kids.
During the 2024 presidential election, His Holiness’s brother published a series of pro-Trump comments, going on to slam Pelosi as a “drunk c***,” a report from Trending Politics News said.
“Louis Prevost, 73, appears to have deleted those posts, but caches of their history were uncovered by the liberal outlet, proving that the elder brother of Pope Leo is no fan of Democrats,” the article continued.
In a different post, Prevost wrote, “These f***ing liberals crying about tariffs is just unreal.” The post also included a video of Pelosi from 1996 pushing for additional tariffs. Hypocrisy is the defining trait of the modern Democrat, a fact made abundantly clear over the last decade.
“Do they not know that there is a thing called video? Just listen to what this drunk c*** has to say In the mid 90s long before her husband had grindr dates,” Prevost said.
In another post, he called for Democrats to be arrested for meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The Florida resident previously posted a picture of a mental institution.
“Where the woke lived before the ‘70s,” a caption for the picture says.
Louis Prevost also appears to be a fan of Vice President J.D. Vance, whom he complimented following his debate against Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. The warm words stood in contrast to a harsher observation by his brother, who has been critical of Vance in the past. The expletive-ridden posts share one thing in common: proof that the Prevost family is filled with conservatives who are deeply skeptical of Democrats.
One salvo by Louis Prevost recalled the greatness of America’s public schools before “lefties took over and ruined” them. Back then, progressive educators would have been “tarred, feathered and rode out of town on a donkey, or worse, shot or strung up for screwing with people’s lives so much,” he wrote, the NY Post reports.
Louis and his brother, Robert, known now as Pope Leo XIV, grew up in a suburb outside of Chicago with their brother, John. Louis, in previous interviews, recounted how the future pope was often the peacemaker of the family.
“Jeez, it was like just yesterday, I was throwing him down the stairs,” Louis Prevost said to the New York Times. “And now he’s pope!”
He also pointed to areas of disagreement with his famous brother, who has voted in Republican primaries, and predicted what kind of pope he will ultimately be.
“I think he’s going to be similar to [Pope] Francis, but maybe not quite as liberal-minded, you know, flexing the church rules quite so much,” Louis Prevost remarked concerning what his brother’s pontificate might look like. “I think he’d be a little more conservative.”
“And as soon as [a church official] went ‘Ro-,’ my mind blew up, because I knew ‘Ro-‘ was going to turn into Roberto. And sure enough, Roberto Francisco,” he told CBS News shortly after the announcement that Pope Leo XIV had been selected.
“And I went nuts. I lost it. Mind blown. My little brother was just made pope. Oh my God. What do I do? How do I act? Do I have to change the way I live? I better behave now,” Prevost concluded.
