Another Democratic politician is in the hot seat this week after being busted shoplifting, of all things, at a local Target store. I mean, stealing and Democrats go together like peanut butter and jelly, so I guess we shouldn’t be surprised one gets caught with a hand in the cookie jar. As libertarian Ron Paul, a former congressman said, taxation is theft.
This is just a Democrat taking their favorite principle and applying it to something different.
Connecticut state Rep. Raghib Allie-Brennan revealed on Tuesday that he had been caught stealing at the Bethel Target outlet store. He was busted by an employee picked up on Allie-Brennan’s failure to scan several items that he quickly pushed through the checkout line.
Target later revealed that this isn’t the first time they’ve caught Allie-Brennan stealing.
“During a recent visit to the Bethel Target, two items in my armload of others were not scanned,” the Democratic lawmaker said in a post on Facebook, revealing he’d been charged with a 6th-degree felony.
“I was in a rush to bring items to my grandmother in the hospital, the store didn’t have bags, and I was juggling multiple purchases,” he wrote. This might have been a tad more believable if he hadn’t been caught several times in the past trying to take stuff from the store without paying for it.
“While I do not have a record, I take full responsibility for the error and am working through the legal processes to resolve the matter quickly and respectfully,” Allie-Brennan said. “I respect the law and Target’s right to enforce their loss prevention policy, and I remain committed to serving my community with transparency and integrity.”
A summary from the Bethel police stated that Allie-Brennan was detained by loss prevention personnel who spoke with law enforcement, informing them they recognized him from “previous unreported larcenies.”
Security footage showing him trying to leave with $26.69 worth of merchandise that hadn’t been paid for, according to local police.
Allie-Brennan has served four terms in the Connecticut state government. He is 33-years-old.

Western Journal reporter C. Douglas Golden, citing his time in retail, suspects asset protection personnel took action against Allie-Brennan after watching him slip the noose multiple times.
“[T]his, instead, feels a lot more like the treatment given to someone who had already been caught on camera in ‘previous unreported larcenies’ but who hadn’t been confronted by security.”
Either the number of law-breaking Democrats has increased since COVID, or prosecutors have just gotten better at arresting them.
In April, the U.S. Justice Department indicted Massachusetts State Rep. Chris Flanagan over an alleged scheme to pocket $30,000 from his employer to pay various credit card debts. Just months earlier, a Democratic Boston city councilor was charged with stealing taxpayer money through a byzantine bonus scheme with one of her staffers.
There have been a lot of Democratic politicians caught in the midst of bad behavior. Take former Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) for example. Menendez reported to prison earlier in June to begin serving an 11-year sentence after pleading guilty to accepting bribes, which included payment made in solid gold bars.
Sounds like a Bond villain, right?
And these are the same folks who want to hike up your taxes on a near constant basis. It all makes sense, doesn’t it?
