President Donald Trump is winding up to take a sledgehammer to liberal news network CNN after the network seemingly promoted a smartphone app that allows its users to report activity by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in order to warn illegal aliens.
When a person or entity purposefully undermines federal law enforcement by enabling or encouraging others to violate the law, we call that “sedition.” And by promoting this app, that’s precisely what CNN could be guilty of, depending on the results of the investigation.
A segment was aired on Monday featuring correspondent Claire Duffy explaining how a tech guru wanted to assist those attempting to avoid ICE agents — illegal aliens — without actually interfering directly with the agency’s activities.

A brief interview with founder Joshua Aaron sparked buzz across the executive branch within hours as U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, White House border czar Tom Homan, and Trump Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller all laid into the network for “openly helping invaders and insurrectionists sabotage ICE.”
Noem, appearing with Trump on Tuesday, confirmed that the DHS is investigating the legality of the anti-ICE app. “Good idea,” Trump appeared to say after a reporter asked Noem if she agreed with Homan that CNN should be “prosecuted” for its story.
“We’re working with the Department of Justice to see if we can prosecute them for that, because what they’re doing is actively encouraging people to avoid law enforcement, activities, operations, and we’re going to actually go after them and prosecute them… if we can, because we believe what they’re doing is illegal,” Noem continued.
The president reminded the reporter that he is still of the belief that the network made up a “false report” that claimed the bombing of Iran he ordered over a week ago did not do significant damage to the nation’s nuclear program.
“They were giving totally false reports,” he said. “They may very well be prosecuted for that.”
As much as MAGA hates the mainstream media, they don’t honestly hate it enough. Look at the damage done to our culture, the very fabric of our society, by cooking up propaganda to help Democrats destroy the foundations of our liberty. It’s about time they are held accountable for the corruption.
Illegal immigration has emerged as a flashpoint between the Trump administration and news outlets like CNN that regularly offer glowing coverage of suspected illegal immigrants arrested by ICE. The network was one among countless to suggest that “Maryland man” Kilmar Abrego Garcia was an otherwise innocent, hardworking illegal immigrant before his prosecution on human trafficking charges.
Members of President Trump’s inner circle have made it clear they fully intend to do everything they legally can to shut down the app. The program enables individuals to report the location of ICE agents so that users within a 5-mile radius can avoid them.
This puts ICE agents’ safety at risk. Imagine violent gang members who are here illegally having the jump on the same individuals seeking to boot them from the U.S.? So much can go wrong.
Attorney General Pam Bondi even said the Justice Department is considering whether to file charges against Aaron, the creator of the app.
“Our ICE agents, all of our federal agents who are working hand in hand on these task force[s] — our federal agents from the Justice Department could be injured,” Bondi stated during an interview Monday on “Hannity.”
“He’s giving a message to criminals where our federal officers are. And he cannot do that. And we are looking at it, we are looking at him, and he better watch out, because that’s not protected speech. That is threatening the lives of our law enforcement officers throughout this country,” she added.
