MSNBC, the left-wing propagandist network for the Democratic Party, is getting a makeover designed to help separate it from NBC News — both owned by NBCUniversal — that will see it getting a new name and logo sans the ridiculous peacock. Hilariously, this new effort is already failing spectacularly.
The network will soon be known as My Source for News, Opinion, and the World, or MS Now for short. Specific networks owned by NBCUniversal will now be spun out to Versant, which will include CNBC, Golf Channel, GolfNow, MSNBC, and SportsEngine.
“The peacock is synonymous with NBCUniversal, and it is a symbol they have decided to keep within the NBCU family,” Versant CEO Mark Lazarus went on to state in a company-wide memo on Monday. This gives us the opportunity to chart our own path forward, create distinct brand identities, and establish an independent news organization following the spin.”
According to Axios, the rollout for the changes should happen by the end of 2025.
Folks on social media wasted no time ripping into the name change, making some hilarious points about how silly the whole thing is.
One user on X asked, “Why does the MSNBC rebrand look like they’re advocating for Multiple Sclerosis?”
How did this ever get approved? Was there seriously no one at this company that looked at this rebrand and new logo and thought, “Hey, you know, this kind of looks like an ad for some kind of medical company?” That’s really hard to believe. At the same time, MSNBC isn’t well known for having top tier intelligence working at the network, so maybe this really is the best they could come up with.
Another said, “I just want to meet the absolute bandit who got MSNBC execs to fork over tons of $$$ for this logo and name that reminds you of multiple sclerosis. I bet he hates them and can’t believe they used it.”
A third user said, “The ACTUAL news agency for Multiple Sclerosis is more appealing than the MSNBC re-do. The only winner in the new deal is the beautiful peacock that no longer has to be associated with the abysmal former agency.”
Another said, “Multiple Sclerosis Network? I’m confused @MSNBC.”
Someone should be fired for this garbage. The incompetence at major mainstream media outlets is astounding. How in the world do these companies still exist? Oh. Maybe they still exist because the deep state was propping them up with funding through USAID?
Well, those days are over. Let’s hope these bastions of fair and balanced journalism — please note the sarcasm — will finally disappear?
