It may not be as dramatic as 1775’s “shot heard round the world” that began our American Revolution, against an oppressive regime. However, just like those colonial farmers, merchants, and ordinary folks of yesteryear today’s patriots have finally declared “ENOUGH!”
America’s Governor’s, teachers, parents, merchants, healthcare workers, public servants and anyone with half-a-brain are finally ripping off the little pieces of cloth from their faces and finally breathing the free air of liberty.
In the free state of Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis on Wednesday reiterated once again that scientific research showing that face masks actually blocks the spread of COVID has yet to be proven. In short, there’s no actual scientific data available backing up the CDC’s guidelines, or for that matter the arbitrary number of 6ft used for social distancing.

DeSantis appearing at an event and announced the opening of another monoclonal antibody treatment center. There he was asked by a reporter his views on wearing face masks.
The Governors response; “They should not be mandated. No government entity should force you to do that. That is your choice. If that’s something you believe provides you protection, no one is going to say anything to you. But that should not, absolutely not be mandated.”
DeSantis continued; “I will say that from a scientific perspective, you have, even some of these experts now are acknowledging, with an aerosolized virus, a piece of cloth is not going to stop the aerosols.”
However, Governor DeSantis isn’t alone, just about 1,300 miles west of Florida, is the “Lone Star” state and another governor who believes in personal freedoms.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Wednesday also proclaimed his states “independence” by once again reaffirming his executive order, maintaining a ban on vaccine mandates.
The Governor also took to social media posting; “I issued an Executive Order maintaining the prohibition of vaccine mandates.”
“Additionally, I’ve added the issue of vaccine mandates to the Special Session agenda. #txlege involvement is important to avoid a patchwork of vaccine mandates across Texas.”

Moreover, the spirit of 1775 and our second American Revolution aren’t only confined to those blue state governors.
In gang-torn Chicago, the president of the “windy cities” Fraternal Order of Police, also had a message for Democratic Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s vaccine mandate for police officers…“HELL, NO.”
That resounding decree was issued by union president John Catanzara. In a prepared statement issued to both local affiliate Fox32 and the Chicago Sun Times, Catanzara emphasized, “We are 100% against mandated vaccines for our members. This vaccine has no studies for long-term side effects or consequences.”
Adding, “Now to mandate anybody to get that vaccine, without that data as a baseline, amongst other issues, is a ‘Hell, no’ for us.”
Moreover, while Democratic mayors and governors like Bill de Blasio and J.B. Pritzker continue using COVID as a political weapon. They’ve mandated in New York City that all restaurant workers and diners must be vaccinated before they can enter an indoor restaurant, or that all school children in Illinois must wear face masks to prevent the spread of COVID. This is despite no actual science to back up their absurd mandates. It simply illustrates once again how progressive politicians refuse to relinquish their power over the people.
In a recent Quinnipiac University Poll, unvaccinated Floridians were asked; “Which comes closest to your situation: you are not planning to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, or you are planning to receive or have already received a COVID-19 vaccine?”
Overall, the vast majority, 74%, said they have already received the vaccine or plan to do so, while 19% said they “don’t plan to.”
Of those not planning to take the vaccine, were asked a follow-up question. “In general, which do you think would be more damaging to your health: receiving a COVID-19 vaccine or becoming infected with COVID-19?”
The majority, 69% said receiving a vaccine would be more detrimental to their health, while 20% said becoming infected with the virus posed a greater risk.
In short, diversity of opinion is what keeps America “FREE”!
